We need critical literacy more than ever. This is what happens when a country doesn't teach, remember, or understand its own history.
Only 6%-13% of k-12 edu funding comes from the fed, but that $$$ goes to serve students with disabilities and students in poverty. This is more of the same playbook of targeting the vulnerable and calling it progress.
DC folks we're gonna go to the Senate building tomorrow and confront Schumer with our resistance. This is OUR money and we won't let Congress defund our schools, transportation system, and social safety net without putting up a fight!

I don't think enough elementary schools are teaching Black history. Most of the time schools have either a significant Black teacher population or a majority Black student population.
And even if it's being taught, I worry it's not being taught well. Black studies should be standard.
The Right is focused on education—banning books & history, & defunding schools.
The Left hasn’t been as focused on education, but should because:
1) Students deserve to learn the truth & with it they can change the world
2) Educators are the most unionized workplace & can be a force for justice
