I've been in a reading slump as of late, which isn't to speak on the quality of the books but more just *gestures wildly*. So I made a decision to pick up my magazine fiction reading once again. The joy I had just experienced. Past me subscribed for a year. I have several editions to catch up on.

Saw Kisschasy, Yellowcard and Good Charlotte last night in Bendigo. 15 year old me is thriving and it was banger after banger after banger. One of the best concerts I’ve been to.

There’s something magical about the exhaustion that comes after a night of seeing live music. I just ate a giant bowl of pasta and I’m now going to merge into the couch with a book.

It's going to be so interesting to do. I didn't know this was where the story was going, but then oh no someone was murdered!!! It's been a fun experiment to dabble in. As an outliner for all other projects, I think there is going to be a point where I go ok I have no idea what is next ahh!

In the beginning, this novel was being pants with only two plot points in mind. But now I have reached a point where I have an idea of where I'm going and I've now created the goal posts to mark the beats. It's a fantasy murder mystery! How fun! #amwriting #writingcommunity

Wondering why you should write now with the world the way it is? Have you taken time recently to read a book? Was it a welcome relief? A moment of calm? Of normalcy? Sure it was. That's why you need to write, so your book can be that for someone else. And, of course, you do it for yourself too.

Stop scrolling & post two characters who bring you happiness.

Today was the first day back to work for the year. It was hard. I was tired. I wanted to go to bed early. But I sat down to the laptop and got it done. Even hit word count, somehow. Time for sleep.

It might be helpful right now to remember that collective achievements for the common good are possible. We don’t know the names of everyone who contributed to this and some are probably lost to history. But all of their individual contributions mattered.

Yesterday I woke up feeling like hardly anyone’s reading my work and no one cares. Then I opened an email from someone telling me they loved one of my stories and how important they feel it is. All this to say, let people know when you like their art. Your words can find them when they most need it.
