💢 THREAD: Iranians form human chains around power plants and bridges as Trump warns “a whole civilization will die tonight”
As Trump issued his most explicit threat yet, vids circulating online show civilians gathering around power stations & key infrastructure across Iran in acts of solidarity...
Not a single nationwide protest against the war in Iran, from the most “democratic and free” country, while the pedophile leader threatens to erase an entire civilization by using nuclear weapons, as they alone did twice on civilians.
The United States needs to become a pariah state sanctioned into oblivion even for threatening this, let alone if it’s carried out.
“A whole civilization will die tonight” is the most vile thing a US president has ever said, certainly during the post-1945 era when they’ve had the power to kill civilizations with the dropping of a bomb. I’m staring into the darkness. May this not be one of the most fateful days in human history.
Al Jazeera English @AJEnglish Rat infestations are spreading through Gaza’s displacement camps, where trash, sewage, and collapsing conditions are leading to rodent attacks. Al Jazeera’s @TareqAzzoum reports on the worsening public health crisis.
Children in Gaza are increasingly being bitten by rats as Israel continues to deny displaced families proper shelter under the ongoing blockade. Medical workers report bites on bodies & faces, with overcrowding & collapsing sanitation worsening conditions and leaving children especially vulnerable.
US Israel have bombed Iran universities, one by one, including where Maryam Mirzakhani won the Fields medal, the first women to do so.
Terrorists of humanity. Silence or thinking this means freedom is complicity and idiocy!
Hi all. I am very excited that after 6 years I finally got my phylogenetic comparative methods book and online exercises online. Feel free to use and share. The book is here: nhcooper123.github.io/pcm-primer/. Note that it is not finished, we had to abandon it before the sunk costs fallacy broke us

"We're so disgusted with our government's policy of deliberately causing misery for the Cuban people."
Read more from Medea Benjamin in Le Monde.
When people choose to not talk about "politics", it is usually because they directly benefit from it.
"Palestine, while in unspeakable pain, should inspire the world to resist the monsters to achieve emancipation, justice, dignity, and equality."
Fundamental documentary by @abbymartin.bsky.social reporting the grave environmental (on top of the already devastating human) cost, of US imperialism.
You are still talking only about Russia and not a word about Israel, their fascism and genocide?
"Gaza is not an isolated tragedy. It is the epicentre of global politics."
In her speech at the People’s Congress for The Hague Group, Yara Hawari examines the brutal reality of Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Americans love to say, "We are better than this."
When?
During slavery?
During Jim Crow?
During Vietnam?
During coups in Latin America?
During Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Palestine?
At what exact point was this mythical moral golden age?
Where is the outrage from scientists said to defend science?
Le doyen de la faculté des sciences de l’Université libanaise, à Hadath, Hussein Bazzi, ainsi que Mortada Srour, un professeur sont décédés suite à une frappe israélienne d’un drone a visé le bâtiment universitaire.

And another massacre post-My Lai: in 1988 the US fired two missiles at the civilian flight Iran Air 655, while it was transmitting civilian identification codes, killing all 290 occupants, including 65 children.
Someone corrected me and pointed out that the Minab massacre follows the Amiriyah massacre in Iraq in 1991, when the US massacred over 400 civilians taking refuge in a shelter.
The US bombing of schoolchildren in Iran is the biggest single US massacre of civilians since My Lai. The Israeli bombing of Tehran’s oil storage constitutes the biggest single act of chemical warfare against a civilian population in history. Grotesque new depths of barbarism.
“Why is it that these apparently liberal democracies in the West are such incredibly violent warmongers?”
please read books
I’m looking for a post doc (up to five years) interested in phylogenetics and earth systems - please spread the word!
The US-Israeli criminal pedo-military complex now killed several scientists by targeting the Faculty of Science in the Lebanese University.
This is a picture of Tehran now. Covered in thick black toxic clouds of smoke, raining oil on 9 million people with cancerous polluted air entering every lung. People breathing this. Animals breathing this. Trees breathing this. A humanitarian and environmental catastrophe.
Sorry to say it, but it's true, X is proving to be the best source of news and valuable information at this time than any other social media platform I am on. The tip is to use the "following" option, which restricts your feed to only those you've chosen to follow, rather than the algorithm feed.
Happy Women's Day to all!
The U.S. and Israel continue to be the biggest threats to children (and humanity).
