You give me hope (torn through ligament in my ankle and displaced bone in my foot healed into dislocation because I fell at work, therefore got sucked into the dystopia of Workers Compensation). If I can get surgery someday, I will hike again. It's been five years and I don't know who I am without.

Watched in horror as investment-class Ds turned their backs on working class in the 90s and gave up screaming by the mid-2000s when no one went after Big Oil as an existential threat and was not surprised when all the Ds did was give lip-service to Citizens. Good to see it. Too late. End is nigh.

Yeah, but we were talking about why women don't report rape, and domestic abuse, because cops and prosecutors defend men. Male dominance kinda goes without saying in these regards. My point was about the adaptive behavior.

In evo-bio/evo-psych "male cooperation" is about the adaptive behavior that allowed the species to function as a group, which necessitated the behavior so that the males of the species could live together (in a cave, for example) without killing one another, such as the species of horse and lion do.

Women have their own evolutionary biological drives, one of which is shunning, and driving the outliers out of the tribe. Then there is the straight psychology of separating oneself from danger. Saying, "that wouldn't happen to me because (fill in the blank)". Then there's the surviving patriarchy.

It happens everywhere. To all of our sizes. I think one of the cases was in Monterey, CA.

It's biological. Starts with what they call, "male cooperation," as phrased in evo-bio. This is why (most) men are biologically wired to defend men over women as a knee jerk, and why even the seemingly "good guys" are blind to what they are saying when they do. Then add in the social complexifiers.

After the cops came and found me with a half a molar in my hand and went in to talk to my husband (at the time) one of them came out and said, "tell me what you said to make him have to hit you." Same cop called me repeatedly while he sat in jail and harassed me about how he has a right to the kids.
