🧵 Historic win: EU Court strikes down Orban’s anti-LGBTI laws

In a landmark decision, the EU’s top court today struck down Orban’s anti-LGBTI legacy. A clear sign against transphobia in the EU.

Literally translating the way the Japanese language uses quotation brackets makes everything sound sarcastic in English.

There's a whole thing in AI about 'work avoidance'. It'll set up for a big reveal, but have nothing to reveal. Characters will be cagey because exposition is less neutral then a "you'll see". I've said it before, but you get JJ Abrams writing. Hollow mysteries and twists with no real backbone.

The bit about intentionality gets me. AI cannot set up a plot twist or foreshadow. You can maybe using a generated outline, kinda strong arm it into VAGUELY following plot but you're never going to get anything excited out of it. Not even a real good line or anything. You'll just get mediocre prose.

It bears repeating that historically, the #1 thing that keeps people alive in hard times and disasters is “the ability to play well with others”

'We must become less reliant on American tools': Windows 11 is so bad the French government is switching to Linux — and Microsoft should be worried Is 2027 set to be the year of Linux? There are signs that this might actually be the case, this time.

This article is weird. France isn't switching to Linux because Windows is bad - it's switching because Microsoft is a US company, US companies fall under US law, and thus simply cannot be trusted with EU data. Windows can't "solve" this. There's no "fix" here.

The forthcoming live-action adventure movie will bring the defining mech franchise to life with an original story that follows rival mech pilots fighting on opposite sides of decades-long war between Earth and its space former colonies. "As shifting allegiances and a growing threat set them on a collision course for one another," reads an early description of the film, "they're pulled into a high-stakes race across the stars that could define the fate of humanity. With awe-inspiring battles, intimate human emotion, and an epic cinematic scale, this is Gundam like it's been seen before."

This has been in the works for a while but Ternus is a hardware guy and their hardware has been their strongest suit for the last few years. Very smart choice instead of some AI freak.

Skeptics “point to highly publicized AI failures, including one involving a Utah traffic stop during which a police body cam recorded the movie ‘The Princess and the Frog’ playing in the background and generated a report stating, among other things, that an officer ‘turned into a frog.’”
