Another high point from the #NHLDucks game last night was when @lindsayimber.bsky.social was playing various songs about leaving while Blackhawk fans were walking out of the game early. #HeyHeyHeyGoodbye #ByeyeBye @anaheimducks.bsky.social

Paradise Pier Golden Zephyr Area Music Loop - Disney's California Adventure YouTube video by Defining Disney

I have been looking for this for 20 years & finally found it! So happy rn. Multiple organ styles in the Paradise Pier: Golden Zephyr Area Music Loop. Now when you hear me play these songs, this is where I learned them: from DCA 1.0! I'm truly an Anaheim organist :)

Sometimes I’m asked how I learn new songs so quickly. In the case of Never Getting Laid by Sabrina Carpenter, it’s because its chord progression is the same as the one from…the American Dad Theme Song.

Until he chooses a goal song for himself, I can do that! The melisma during the lyric “life” in Lonely Day could be a good one.

Tonight marks the start of my 11th season in Anaheim. It was quite the eventful offseason & I’m glad it’s finally October. I’m so grateful to be playing alongside hockey’s best. 🎹

California trans rights update:
Governor Newsom signed SB 497, @scottwiener.bsky.social’s Trans Shield Expansion bill. Really good!
Also signed: AB 82 (health care privacy law for gender affirming care), SB 59/AB 1084 (transgender records privacy).

HOWEVER he vetoed SB 418 HRT non-discrimination.

Crude drawings by a young child separated into three panels. The first is called “Man-woman”, the second is “incomplete woman”, and the third is “truck eater.”

Sorting through childhood memories and here’s a drawing that preschool me made some 30-plus years ago illustrating the process of transitioning. Looks like I’m finally a Truck Eater.

You’re welcome! It’s nice to be reminded that there’s a bigger picture than just hockey.

"The Olympic Games are meant to unite the world in sport, but in this present environment of turmoil and crisis, more pressing matters include a gargantuan fight against authoritarianism, combating abject cruelty to marginalized communities, and severe social and political issues of immediate concern. No one is free until the most vulnerable amongst us are treated as equal and at present, we are failing our immigrant and transgender communities, including athletes from these communities. I hope the Olympics in 2028 will signal a return to values of inclusion and community through strong rejection of hatred, division, exclusion, and discrimination."

A local reporter asked me for a statement in my capacity as SONC President in reaction to recent announcements for the LA 2028 Olympic Games. My reply, which I expect not to make it to print, is as follows. Today's crises of severe social and political turmoil are much more pressing than LA28.

Meme from Spongebob listing examples of "fairness" including multiple examples of cis women refusing to include trans women in fencing, darts, chess, the League of Legends video game tournament, pool/snooker, and other low-physicality events, illustration of how anti-trans policies disproportionately harm women of colour, and the misogyny relative to assuming women can't be good at trivia.

Ah yes, it's about "fairness"...

Exclusive: Trump White House directs NIH to study ‘regret’ after transgender people transition After cancelling nearly all NIH projects studying transgender health, Trump’s team instructs the US biomedical agency to study negative consequences of transitioning.

The plan here is to employ logical fallacy, confirmation bias, to ignore the 99% satisfaction rate for the 1% regret (compared to ~15% for non-trans care eg knee surgery), and use that to justify banning gender affirming care for ALL ages. It’s a GOP-led genocide.

Watching history in the making as Cory Booker addresses the US Senate

If you aren’t yet watching Cory Booker’s 24-hour long speech in the US Senate, you might want to head over to his YouTube channel to watch history in the making. He’ll soon pass Strom Thurmond’s anti-civil rights filibuster for longest all-time floor speech, a very fitting record about to be set.

I grew up playing along with Nancy Bea from home, following in her footsteps on the Dodger Stadium organ, and currently play based on her style for Ducks. The sports world will miss this music legend, the best organist in Dodgers history.
