I'll also specify I live in central Florida where there's a lot more tourist foot traffic. I don't know if that has an effect on the local accent over time but I wouldn't be surprised.

I had to resist the urge to go "I know what you are." But settled for "oh yes, the Final Fantasy 14 promotion right?"

I had just started working at a Walgreens when that promotion went up. I wasn't even into XIV at that time. But I knew about it thanks to a podcast I listened to. I remember one person in particular I had to ring up for all those bars and she shy-joked about it being for a game she played.
