We do Movie Nights at 6pm PT Fridays (Passenger 57 tomorrow!), and on 4/18 we're doing an Alpha Course watch party at 6pm PT. We're an easygoing, chill server with no porn on main.

What ought to make evangelicals nervous is how obvious it is that no gods anywhere are helping any churches grow. Church growth is understandable, as well as definitively natural.

It's an Easter miracle, folks! All 75M "Nones" in America converted at once - to one of the smallest denominations in America. You'll be shocked when you hear how it happened.
(In honor of Easter this year being so close to April Fools' Day)

This one goes out to our #exjw friends: A ton of changes for the Jehovah's Witnesses, but I'm not sure all that 'new light' will help their numbers much.

Evangelicals are very used to flinging "no true Christian" accusations at those who leave, but this time, they can't do that. Not to Jerry Johnson. So Richard Land goes another (and very revealing) route.

Voicecasts are back! Today, we look at why there's such a huge gap between #evangelicals' ideal state and their actual behavior. It ain't accidental. It's there for a very distinct purpose.

Heath Lambert sure thought this was funny, but if the Southern Baptist Convention had any sense they'd put him to pasture. The stats just don't support a new internal civil war to make King Him happy.

The #pizzagate call was coming from *inside* the house, it seems.
And if Epstein was indeed a regular at 4chan, then suddenly QAnon makes even more sense as a psyop.
We analyze Bethel Church's two not-pologies about Shawn Bolz - and do a timeline of his life to show exactly why his leaders protected him for so long. This is one rabbithole that just keeps getting deeper.

YAYY my post button is back! So:
If you were wondering if ministers have become aware of alt-right Zoomer men joining their churches basically for the aesthetics of it, yes, they definitely have. (And they don't like it!)

BTW, for some reason my post button has been missing for a week. I'm still updating over on Patreon and rolltodisbelieve.com, just can't post anything new here. I've got no idea why this is happening.
Right? It's really more of a question about how HARD we'll cringe.
We cover three kinds of evangelical prophecy - plus a subtype that is so cringe your spine might just leave your body when you hear about it!

I have an incredibly smart torbie cat called Squeaky. She doesn't care about vacuums, but the laser printer is her mortal enemy. So I'm teaching her the word "printer" so I can get her mentally prepared to hear the machine running. And she's learning fast! Hopefully it'll ease her stress.
Alpha Course 10 (11 in some variants) is about how to "receive the Holy Spirit." But almost all of the video is more salesmanship - for a reason. This video is meant to be shown during a weekend retreat - and it is very hard- sell.

Until now, Alpha Course could pretend to be ecumenical. But now, the mask is off. Here are the influences that went into that Charismatic pivot - and Nicky Gumbel's own history with that faultline through Christianity.

I found out a while ago that in BlueSky's earliest days, people couldn't upload pics or gifs, so they talked like in Star Trek TNG: "Homer Simpson, retreating into the bush" and all that. I want that again. Let's normalize that.

What evangelicals did to Christian music made an AI singer like Solomon Ray not only possible but inevitable. This story has been brewing for at least 40 years. (Also, I got to share my funny CCM parody links at last!)

The AI chatbot Satan in 'Text With Jesus' isn't real. But they're still acting like it's the real thing. Maybe that's cuz there isn't a real thing to fear in the first place.

I don't care what my em-dashes might say. I have been using them from the very get-go of my writing in the 1990s, and the AI-vestigators can just take them from my cold dead hands.
BTW, if anyone's curious, I don't use any kind of generative AI in my writing. It's all bespoke, handcrafted wordsmithery. I used an AI image in the thumbnail because it seemed thematic, but this was a one-off for this specific topic. Otherwise, I only use human art (with permission & credit ofc).
Happy weekend, folks! Today, we had fun asking "Text With Jesus" the questions we always had about a wide range of topics. Enjoy!

Usually, the President's Address at the SBC Annual Meeting is a strategy statement or an evangelism exhortation. This time, though, it was a desperate plea for Southern Baptists not to leave the denomination.

Some very interesting stories hidden in the metrics in the 2025 SBC Annual Report! Decline, obfuscation, and maybe a little outright deception - for Jesus, of course, which makes it all okay.

I completely agree. I used to love haunting the comment sections of evangelical blogs. Every time one of them wrote about church problems, the comments were full of older people (at the time, 50-70) who'd left their churches due to drama. This trend's overdue.
Evangelicals remind me of gambling addicts with their constant cope about their win coming Any Day Now™.

Yes - for everyone involved!
Evangelicals have discovered seniors are leaving evangelicalism (while still ignoring Gen X, natch, of course, like we Gen Xers care!), but it's still way too late:
