Digital Circus could open a lot of doors for other shows, but it doesn’t mean that everyone is seeing the level of success they need to survive. Not in the way studio supported shows could support their artists.

But editors and revisionists are valuable positions the way animation, fx, an comp are. The straight-to-animatic mentality feels like another way that the hyper-individualist…
… both back to the director, and to the other artists further down the pipeline.
The point of boards, is to help create a cohesive visual plan for the rest of the production. And while that does give you a lot of creative input. It’s not YOUR VISION. It’s a collective.
It’s fueled by this weird public perception that creative artists working on any production have a significant amount of creative power. The reality is that it’s more complicated than that.
It’s not about your vision. It’s about your ability to correctly communicate a vision…🧵
