The Dunning-Kruger curve is now an Onion joke. Socrates would likely be proud.

If they could do that, Steve Jobs would've been copied over to a new host body of some sort, and still be CEO.
If they had a way to back up Steve Jobs consciousness, he never would've stepped down as CEO. He would've just had them create a suitable host body and loaded a copy into it, so Jobs would never technically die. Jobs hated power buttons, because he didn't like even electronics to 'die'.
They love to claim to be Christian, while following a lecherous, blasphemous, hatemonger.
Thank you for posting the right answer. I was worried I might be alone.
Democrats want Christians to be protected and allowed to hold their beliefs and worship for themselves - just like any other religion or lack of any religion.
Republicans want Christians to impose their beliefs and worship on everyone else.
Jesus lived and taught the example of the former.
"Where'd you hear that crap?"
Jesus Christ.
Ya know, the guy that gave the name to your supposed faith - Christianity.
Virtually every building ought to be covered in panels by now. If they were, we'd be damn near energy independent at the building level. Imagine not worrying too much about grid reliability because you don't need it 90% of the time.
Biggest problem I see is they'd have to be 14' up (13' 6" +error).
If you're using face unlock, that's also quite insecure, really. Even if a picture no longer works (although has that been tested against an AI generated 'live picture'?), putting you under duress, or just you being not fully conscious could allow someone to unlock your screen.
How can a phone be unlocked, but (also) still on the lock screen? If it is unlocked, it should be on the home screen, or maybe last fullscreen app. Are you confusing the off/dark state vs on/illuminated?
Or are you just used to not having to really unlock your phone intentionally due to face unlock
Nobody should have previews of any kind of messages in their notifications that appear on a lock screen, for starters. That's how you leak private info on an unattended or stolen device.
So they're 'plummeting' since their 2023 peak, which makes it sound like we solved some problem...
It was called the pandemic, and that had caused a spike in overdoses. Basically this 'plummet' is a consequence of us recovering from an overdose crisis.
Oh, and if it wasn't clear, I mean tax those stock benefits annually, rather than letting them accumulate and only taxing when they're finally sold. Capital gains after years of the benefit of borrowing against the stock value isn't as fair a contribution. Also allows time to create other shelters.
My intent isn't to make a CEO go broke. I'm just thinking it would help force a higher tax contribution, and more reinvestment into other company assets - like maybe the workers further down? I know taking CEO compensation doesn't make everybody in the company rich, but might support better benefits
Tax rate for the stock gains could be done at either income or capital gains rates. Cash bonuses are already taxed, so that should not need to change much. Despite this likely making them higher tax contributors (closing the outright stock loophole), I doubt the average big corp CEO would go broke.
Crazy idea: Cap the salary of all US corporate CEOs at the same salary the President of the United States gets. Being generous and including his travel and entertainment expense allowances, that's $596k a year. Allow CEOs to earn stock options, but tax them based on lowest value for the tax year.
If Trump were receiving ZERO dollars salary, he'd be suing, because legally he's supposed to get a total of $569k per year. That's been the standard since his first term. That'd be over $2m per term.

"Sources say they were close to having nuclear Holy Hand Grenades, threatening the safety of Midwest people, who are also afraid of anyone with skin darker than sweet tea and speaking anything other than English with a drawl."
Lovely virtue signalling, and calling out a straw man person who would be 'offended' by the idea of anyone getting better healthcare than anyone else.
Leave this shit on facebook.
Those disgusting primates that chew spit on retail store floors and shelves - and even product, so watch out - and leave their 'spitters' if they both to have one, sitting around on shelves, too. Very often they don't bother to cap or lid them, either.
Chewing tobacco needs banned before smoking.
My router is my own. My ISP only provides a 'modem' (ONT/ONU) by default, for 'free' (included in the base service fee per month). It's a Netgear. I set my own DNS at the router level, and in device settings where possible. Using the ISP's router options are usually garbage, if you can opt out, do.
"I told you he wasn't your real dad."
If you aren't running a community project distro of Linux, you're going to be spied on... by your OS. But wait, there's more - your ISP is probably spying on you, too.
There's basically no way to use the internet without someone with some part along the way collecting enough data about you.
There's another giant company willing to let you try to keep even older devices useful - Google. I have an ancestor to the laptop in the pic, and it runs ChromeOS Flex just fine.
Obsolete and don't look as good as our first impression?
When you have the right userbase, but your design isn't adequate, you get fence pliers as your next design.
I don't think this is quite it, but if 50% of your users are using the design wrong, you need to investigate it to determine if you've designed it poorly or if you've got the wrong userbase. If you hand a carpenter a pipe wrench, do you think you need to design a pipe wrench better at driving nails?
That's an L.
They might be a wee bit unhappy if you changed it for everyone, but if you use the hosts file method on any device that supports it, it will only apply to that device.
