It's the last day of the month so here is a summary of some highlights from March.
As the Easter weekend approaches, I wish you a restful time with your family and friends - and I will see you soon on the doorstep next week in St Ives!

It's the last day of the month so here's a summary of some of the things I have done in February as a County Councillor - and the next March drop-in surgery dates.
A few reasons to support Option E for a Huntingdonshire unitary authority.
What are yours?

Good to be back at Chatters Community Cafe this lunchtime (before going to council committee) and speak to local residents.
My next drop-in surgery at the village hall is Thursday 12 February, 12-1pm - and every second Thursday of the month from then on.
Thank you Kerrie, Sue and Luke for canvassing today with me and our Labour district council candidate Will for St Ives South.
Always good to speak with residents about local issues whether it’s reporting a highways issue or wider discussions on the A141, parking and flood mitigation.
Labour are freezing rail fares for the first time in 30 years.
Alongside the work to take back railways into public ownership, this is good news - even for -6 degrees mornings 🥶
t's the first weekend in January so back to the weekly canvassing - it's really important to be out on the doorstep all year round to speak about local issues.
Thanks Sue, David and Luke who braved the freezing temperatures today 🥶
Happy New Year!
It's the last day of the month, so it's time for the councillor summary.
Wishing a Happy New Year to all residents in St Ives, Holywell and Needingworth - and our wider county.
May 2026 bring you health, hope and joy.
✝️ Merry Christmas Everyone! 🎅
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas in St Ives South and Holywell-cum-Needingworth alongside families across wider Huntingdonshire 🎄

A morning doorknocking session with our district council candidate Will and volunteers 🌹
And the last St Ives library drop in surgery before Christmas (there’s still one in Needingworth at Chatters cafe next Thursday 18th from midday to 2)
Out today in St Ives and Needingworth - popped into the farmers market and then into Needingworth for a local Christmas Bazaar 🎄 before the usual canvassing.
A great community day out.
November went so quickly - and it's time for the monthly summary post!
Last autumn newsletter leaflet round in Needingworth this afternoon!
Just a few more in St Ives next week - thanks everyone who already filled in the local issues survey 😊
It's the last day of the month so here's a summary of some of the meetings and consultations happening in October!
My next drop-in county councillor surgery will be at St Ives Library on Saturday 15 November 11am-1pm.
Good news from Cambridgeshire County Council - EV charging is now (finally!) operational at the St Ives Park & Ride.
There are 9 chargers next to the bus stop, all powered by renewable energy generated on site through those solar panels.
Let me know if you use them and what is your feedback!
Delivering the first newsletter as Labour County Councillor for St Ives South and and Needingworth 🌹
Thank you David, Bob, Freya and Luke for helping knock on some doors today.
I hope to get through the deliveries in the next few weeks 🏃♀️
The UK is not the destination of choice for asylum seekers in Europe. It is behind Germany & France and is 17th, or 5th at a stretch, of 28

Some rain won’t stop canvassing and leafletting in St Ives🌹
We’re delivering the first county council newsletter over the next weeks in St Ives South and Needingworth with some information on what I’ve been up to in the first 6 months since I was elected in May - and a survey on local issues.
It was a pleasure to visit Cambridge Regional College (Huntingdon campus) last week - this time to hear more about their College of Sanctuary work, including speaking to ESOL students.

Some doorknocking this evening before going to see the lively Michaelmas fair in St Ives.
The fair’s last day is tomorrow, Wednesday - 4-9.30pm if you have not been already 🎠 🎢
Last few hours of Booze in the Pews at All Saints in St Ives - my favourite I tried this evening was the Papillion IPA from Papworth Brewery 🍻
The next Booze in the Pews festival is 5-7 February 2026 - save the date!
It’s National Young Farmers week - this evening I went to the Cambridgeshire Young Farmers exec meeting in Pidley - yes, I did mention local government reform!
Doing a drop-in surgery today at St Ives Library (will be in the library til 1pm) while Luke, Will and Freya are doing a walking surgery on the doorstep 🌹
And yes, I will be doing an afternoon doorstep session as well, weather permitting…
It’s the last day of the months so it’s time for the monthly County Councillor summary!
First day of conference #Lab25
What a great Freedom Parade in St Ives this morning - the 42 Engineers exercising their Freedom of Town, marching accompanied by the Welsh Guards Marching Band. 🇬🇧
Did you notice how quickly the debate moved from “it’s not about you, you came here legally and integrated, it’s illegal immigration” to “people with indefinite leave to remain should have their status retrospectively removed”
The more we legitimise anti-migration narratives, the worse it’ll get.
🚌 On the Busway 🚌
Good to catch up with Darren Roe and David Boden from Stagecoach today in St Ives.
Back to the UK and to the Huntingdon Carnival - trying the Rush Fitness challenge with fellow councillors…
Catching up with emails this weekend so please bear with me while I go through the backlog if you got in touch last week 📧
Just back from my monthly Needingworth surgery at Chatters Cafe (Village Hall).
My next surgery - Sat 2 August, from 11am to 1pm at St Ives Library - no appointment needed!
