Study of 8M biomed & life science articles finds those led by women spent 7 to 15 days longer in review than those led by men. Over a career, women's papers could spend 350 to 750 additional days in review. Delays could slow promotion, esp to full professor. www.the-scientist.com/women-s-rese...
Huge congratulations, excited to read it!!! ๐๐๐

๐ A huge congratulations to Prof Veronique Miron who was recently awarded the Mid-Career Award in Fundamental Science from ISNI International Society of Neuroimmunology ๐
The award recognises scientific excellence, leadership, and mentorship shaping the future of the field of neuroimmunology.
Canadian researchers should be aware the there is a motion before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Research to force Tricouncils to hand over disaggregated peer review data on all applications:
Applicant names, profiles, demographics
Reviewers names, profiles, comments, and scores

Might I add how cool it was to see Shimon Sakaguchi speak in the morning then win the Nobel that afternoon! ๐คฏ
It was an absolute honour to receive the ISNI mid career award at ISNI2025. A huge thanks to my wonderful lab members, mentors and colleagues past & present, and the supportive Neuroimmunology community. Thanks to Shannon Dunn for the photo! Now off to enjoy Japan ๐โฉ๏ธ๐ฏ
I hope this Nobel Prize gets people talking meaningfully about our amazing immune systems and the importance of basic research to human health (and funding basic research).
I am also glad young women get to see that women can not only work at this level, but that those who do can get recognized.
