Set just after WW2 is Ealing Studios Hue and Cry which is a brilliant kid centred film, shot in and around bombed out London. Has the actual history of the time, and still feels very modern.

I know but I think it cost pennies a few years ago (probably got it about 5 - 6 years back now, thinking about it) Compared to how much some of the copies of this book goes for now, it was a steal. Some amazing bts photos I would never have seen otherwise.

I’m currently obsessing over Czech films from the 60s and 70s. My kind of nuts.
I might finish it at some point but that early promise just dwindled away for me. I’ve read a synopsis of a character moment later on that makes me want to watch at least for that.
