Ok but have you tried American craft beers? Many beers here are shit, but some are phenomenal. You must expand your horizons to other forms. The breweries here are successful because they make good products and appeal to their local community, same as how I would expect another business to act.

I'm from Michigan and we are spilling over with craft beer (and certainly other states too). I can definitely say as an American most of our regular beer isn't phenomenal unless you find the brewers who care about quality, and Grand Rapids is Beer City, USA.
