*Experience some sort of obligation to do extensively curtail in-person interaction

Hmmm.... is there any difference between being able to comfortably spend a couple of hours to a couple of days alone vs being required to spend months alone, much of it without a clear end point?
Asking for every single human.
Say what you will about the worst members of the Roberts Court, but they all make sure their wives are in on the grift.
Jane Roberts, Martha Alito and Ginni Thomas are equal partners with their husbands in the grand project of destroying the United States and enriching themselves in the process.
like maybe the public would be getting less frothy and toothy about this if big tech hadn’t spent the last three years constantly threatening the public with impoverishment and feudal control, idk
THANK YOU
Vote Janet Mills for Maine @janetmillsforme.bsky.social
#MEpolitics
(all those ppl hating Mills for being old now going out of their way to shake hands with a woman the same age as her ... GTFO)
That!
Also, I have been very loosely following the Camp Mystic wrongful death lawsuit.
What I said immediately after that happened is that white men who run as anti-intellectual good ol' boys *are bad at their jobs.* Not just I disagree with their policy priorities but bad at the actual work.
That and they are going to ask 10-20 people to volunteer to gate check their bag anyway.
If I am not in a hurry on the other end and especially if I am not in an early boarding group, just skip the hassle of taking a bag through TSA and check it.
Similarly, my family is from the Ozarks (I was 5th gen), I grew up ~6mi from Hillbilly Junction and drove thru it every day to go to school. But I am not a hillbilly for a variety of reasons.
I knew JD Vance was a fraud in 2017.
I think that is part of why my spidey senses were tingling. My dad has a similar background: well-off parents and he opted to do blue collar work and eventually farming.
But he has never pretended he wasn't the product of exactly where he came from because his choices weren't rebellion.
BOOM:
i don't like that platner guy because a) nazi tattoo & b) if a genuine progressive was revealed to have a regretted nazi tattoo somehow they would be subjected to relentless attacks over it from places that're suspiciously quiet about platner. i consider that telling
You'd think that if someone with @charlesgaba.com 's chops is saying THIS IS GUY IS UNFIT, you might be inclined to consider maybe that guy is really unfit rather than block him.
But what do I know?
(I thought Platner was suss *before* the Nazi tattoo came to light)
I have no idea why anything thinks this is what we need to settle for?
That we need a manly blue collar man so badly that we are willing to compromise on the safety of BIPOC, women, and Jews?
The same ol' same ol', instead of expecting better of man/white people, we compromise our values away.
Boom.
*Okay, during this fiasco., I decided take to 2 connecting flights to get to my destination sooner rather than 1 direct flight (this is being rebooked after a delay caused me to miss the 3rd flight). And then I missed the 2nd connecting flight and got there later than the 1 direct flight.
I've never missed a flight due to my own poor planning.*
I had a hilarious series of missed flights and rebookings that was all kicked off my a hot air balloon drifting into the airport's airspace, preventing take off for 40 minutes, causing the flight crew to go over their duty hours.
“I’m pretty used to being involved in things I don’t believe in” Graham Platner
Which Graham do we believe?
The one with Elizabeth Warren or the one saying it was “glorious” when a female officer was publicly humiliated?
Which Graham are we getting?
It turn out she has a name, which is weird.
Thank you, Connie Ballmer.
I want them to promise to nuke the servers and sell the rest of it for parts.
There is a fantasy series where some amoral (not immoral) engineer creates a doomsday machine because he could. He just couldn't help himself. So they severed the tendons in his thumbs to hobble him. Just a thought.
That his actual, real face looked like someone photoshopped is probably not an insignificant part of this.
Tesla paid $1 billion in taxes to China & $0 in federal income taxes to the US. At least 88 highly profitable corporations paid $0 federal income tax last year while bringing in $ billions. Disney, CVS, Palantir, Taco Bell & others are making massive profits, paying executives enormous ⬇️
me, thinking about how Erika had a whole master plan for world domination involving the legacy of Saint Charlie cementing her, TPUSA’s new tragic widow figurehead, as both the GOP’s new reigning kingmaker AND Mrs. Vance the 2nd, and we get to watch it crumble a little more every day before our eyes:
Yeah, this is who the whole "Jews crucified Christ" is referring to and emerged basically right away. The narrative that spawned all the others and drove the inquisitions, pogroms, and Holocaust.
Hoping my coreligionists who are inexplicably attached to using "Pharisee" as an insult will perhaps rethink that. It would be cool if they did.
Hegseth saying “The Pharisee Press” should be a fully mask off moment. He is saying “The Jewish Press”. But Christians of all political stripes are so devoted to using Pharisees as a rhetorical prop that liberal Christians regularly insist it’s totally fine, no matter how many Jews try to explain.
Perhaps this will clarify matters for you? The New Testament does not depict the Pharisees as running newspapers in ancient Israel. The characteristics typically attributed to Pharisees by Christians are unrelated to whatever Hegseth is complaining the media is doing. He means Jewish.
I’m not of an evangelical background, but I picked up the casual derogatory usage of “Pharisee” (and “philistine”) — it took someone calling me out pretty bluntly to hear what I was doing
Logistics is girly and woke. We want a military of manly LETHAL WARFIGHTERS. [fires everyone who know anything about moving supplies and people around]
Yes. It and Deus Valt (another tat) are both Christian nationalist symbols—endorsement of the Crusades and the Inquisitions. The antisemitism is unquestionably part of this.
the war is not operating under "just war" doctrine.
it's operating under the other venerable Christian war theory, which is "Christians are allowed to murder anyone they want."
