The one whole welcomed me into the magical world of fungal pathogens and drug resistance. He is still massively missed especially at a meeting, where he had that Professorial skill of napping through talks and then asking amazing questions.

Also the reality of back to work and dealing with the disappointment of failure and finding out I wasn’t successful in securing a fellowship I had poured and paused my life into for the last year, it has raised many questions over where and what I need to do next…

Heading back home from the adventure of a lifetime to Antarctica, I met the most insanely intelligent articulate and inspiring women, we laughed we cried and most of all we had fun and made new lifelong friendships.
