Thanks Chris!

Ah cheers mate!
It’s my stag do this weekend, planned a semi-civilised agenda of Roosters taproom, football, pizza and a bit of bowling. Guest list is looking 95% acceptable humans. Twattish behaviour will get the stick.
I’m not a fan of him, but time will tell
An unappealing pint of Guinness in a dirty plastic glass
Rowan’s bowling alley in Finsbury’s Park, darkened, full of people and with aggressive drum and bass playing loudly
By now approaching the ‘spannered’ category, we finally found ourselves back in Finsbury Park where we did what any right-thinking person does and went to Rowan’s, where we bowled incredibly badly.
A pint of Tegernseer Hell outside the window of the Sutton Arms pub.
But, still could recall an excellent Penzance Brewery cask IPA, and a delicious Tegernseer Hell, greatly assisted by this shit photo. We also passed by the next day, when Lucy reminded me I’d already told her there was another Sutton Arms around the corner the night before, multiple times.
The plan now was to head back to Finsbury Park for a few nightcaps near our hotel, but instead, we diverted to the voguish charms of the Sutton Arms - a pub that immediately felt like somewhere I’d been before, in a good way. By now I wasn’t really in a position to assess its appeal objectively.
Smart, and obviously new, this was the other side of the coin to the Glad, but equally rammed. Luckily managed to squeeze all three of us into a tiny gap, where I worked my way through a few pints from Unbarred and Burning Sky.
Jumped on the bus up to The Gladstone Arms next, as heard good things. Good list of beers on, food smelt excellent and the slightly dog eared, studenty vibe of the pub was to my taste. After a quick one we were heading to meet a friend at the Blue Maid.
Next, quick pop round the corner to Anspatch and Hobday. Really cba with what the ‘beer mile’ has to offer these days in the main, but I do have a soft spot for A&H’s tap room. Fortunately it was also happy hour, and a couple of quick pints helped us overlook a table of pissed, loud, twats.
As a pub, can see why it’s not for everyone but the food alone makes it worth the trip. We kept it simple with the fried chicken and gyoza (covered with a crisp cheesy lid), as we still intended to eat more later. Beer was on form as well and the barman serving us was chipper AF. Fun.
Bit late, but had a nice London visit last weekend. After dropping bags and visiting some newborn twins, we decided to celebrate being completely unencumbered by kids by getting straight on ‘it’. Kernel Spa Road first, couple of delicious pints, accompanied by Yagi Izakaya’s excellent food.
*late 80s
Yeah, getting through march unscathed is key, mid 80’s would be enough for promotion most years so then just the title to win.
🤣 Off to Huddersfield away next Tuesday with my partner’s brother, who also supports Tottenham.
Oof, almost forgotten I ever did any blogging at all, short lived as it was. Bittersweet read for a couple of reasons 🤣
Gaspar Noe’s Superbad
I enjoyed sitting in the old Leeds bar, as it had a good view of exhausted people exiting the gym, whilst I enjoyed my pint.
Also lots of laughs had in the newer one on the crawl with Steve
Good to know, can kick that curiosity in the bin now!
As someone who also won’t drink it…is it any good?
Brewery Wharf tavern in Leeds, all other pints were impeccable so it was the exception but still!
A pint of ale, served in an unclean glass with zero head. The opposite of a visually appealing drink.
Not mine, and all other beers I had last night were served well, but still had to take a photo of this cursed pint.
I was also at that gig! And popped into the Arch about 6ish, didn’t have the bitter but my pint of pale was a bit tired, end of the cask though in that instance.
I think it might have been one of those ‘………HEY!’ songs
CBA heading out tonight but doing the good friend thing and taking a spare ticket to….reads text….Of Monsters and Men. Think they had a well known song at the time I was busy listening to other bands.
Get to have a pint in the Vic as a bonus.
We don’t play long ball, direct when we need to be but usually build from the back where we can. Currently all three of our forwards are being watched by Champ/PL teams. Mbick on loan from Charlton has been subject to an offer of 3 million from Brighton
Unclear atm but he was there with other guests on the weekend, and they were also there the week before. He’s still only 36, could probably do a job off the bench 😂
We are known as the Brazil of Essex Tbf
Much more accurate headline than Sky there mate
Conglomerate inc taking over worse conglomerate 🤦🏻♂️
