Well, there goes Continuous Submission. Whatever they can do to monkeywrench the grant system and make it harder for us.

So against all the odds and a little over a month before my lab dies, I got a grant with a fundable score. Only to be told today that it would not be funded, because the funder "very rarely" funds first submissions. Man, what the fuck are we doing here???

All of them (I think). I got the email about 2 hrs ago. A decision letter is uploaded into eBRAP that outlines which were funded and total rates. Quite a few disease areas had no funded grants!

CDMRP decisions dropped today. They funded 19 grants. Total. For the whole program. 1.9%. Not sure how anyone is supposed to survive this kind of environment.

I remember maybe 2-3 years ago there was a big social media tempest over nurses insisting they be called “scientists.” Not research coordinators or anything, just regular providers. I don’t get the impulse. We do different things! Some do both, but not that many.
