Interesting! I tried to do that in more detail last week (far from perfect, obviously).

Published in Pers.Indiv.Differ. with my formidable former colleague Almuth 🎆 @dezim-institut.de on the general mechanisms of PRRP support. We show: low tolerance for ambiguity connects personality traits to right-wing authoritarianism, populist att & anti-immigrant sentiment -> higher AfD support.

Abstract of the article "The political life cycle and electoral mobilisation among immigrant-origin and native citizens during the 2021 German election" by Achim Goerres, Jonas Elis and Sabrina Jasmin Mayer. Published online first in West European Politics.
Table 1, displaying the political life cycle with three phases.
Figure 1, displaying the coefficient plot for three dependent variables: political interest (left panel), propensity to vote (middle panel), ease of voting (right panel).
Table 4, displaying the overview for hypotheses and results.
Immigrant-origin voters & native behave the same, but have different experiences across the political life cycle.

Our newest piece on BSW is now published. We show that when attitudes toward Wagenknecht come into the game, policies are no longer that meaningful in predicting behaviour. Personalisation in a personalised party! What a surprise! 😀

Watch the slow motion: it appears to me that the officers discuss the photographer and reporter before the one on the end fires on them (it looks to me like he's aiming at the camera, not the reporter, but you decide)
Once again, I ask what anyone has seen, at this point, to make them really believe that the 2026/28 elections are going to be free, fair, & competitive. Who is going to stop Trump from simply declaring the results of blue states invalid for "pro-terrorist conduct" or some other invented reason?
In this new article, we study voting for the BSW from a policy space perspective with @gles.bsky.social data.
Findings:
-BSW voters tend to be left-nationalist
-Depending on prior party support, either nationalist or economically left-wing positions predict switching to BSW

Many thanks to @pvs-journal.bsky.social, the editors and the reviewers for their helpful feedback!
However, the causal mechanism behind this remains unclear and there is still a lot to unpack. As the BSW narrowly missed to enter the Bundestag in the recent German elections, it remains to be seen how the BSW and its electorate evolve (especially if Wagenknecht steps down as the face of the party).
▶️But: No association with (dis)satisfaction democracy and political distrust.
▶️However, this seems to be largely overshadowed
by a strong impact of the favorability toward Sahra Wagenknecht. 👇
