Never had cold sores before in my life…
… so of course the best time to get a terrible outbreak of something that looks like cold sores (4 blisters *on* lower lip, one of which is a giant one, and one on upper lip right above the giant one) was on my partner’s bday on Friday 🤦

Leaving my well-paid programmer job 6 weeks ago to instead work part time as a stagehand might not make much financial sense… but my brain is happier, and sometimes you get jobs in interesting places!

A small allotment garden with a newly tilled garden bed towards the front. At the very front is an herb patch and a small bird bath, and further back some berry bushes, rhubarb and other plants.
Woke up early so I headed to the #garden to water and decided to do a few hours of work.
2nd-to-last bed now weeded, leveled, and prepped for tomatoes.
Only one more bed to go before it will be mostly be maintenance only! Can’t wait!

A small allotment garden with the nearest patch of soil being recently disturbed due to weeding
Potates went in the ground yesterday (under white fiber cloth).
I’m almost done weeding through the last patches I didn’t get to last year.
I have just made pesto with homegrown ramsons, and tonight it my first board meeting in the #allotment association.

It’s the end of an era.
Just walked out of the office for the last time as an employee, after just over 20 years at the same company.
I’m leaving IT for now.
Will spend some time working part time as a stagehand and just enjoying giving my brain a rest…

Tiny garden pond with a brick and rock/pebble surround. A couple of small water plants in the water, and a flag pole is reflected in the water. Surrounding the pond is a somewhat bare garden, but with spring flowers peeking out
#allotment pond status!
The water has been turned on in the #garden, so I could finally fully fill up the pond!
I also started digging out the rock bed in the veg garden (curse whoever thought that was a good idea!), washed some rocks and used them in the pond.
This is making me SO happy!

Back home! Spent a total of 9hrs driving as well as 6hrs on skates today, officiating 3 games ranging from moderately to severely challenging. It was great to watch all officials learn and grow though - especially the first-timers!
Body is tired and brain is mush now. Night night!
Pre-sunrise light on the horizon
It’s been a while since I’ve gotten up before sunrise (except the darkest winter months obviously), and that can only mean one thing: it’s #rollerderby time!
But first a 4.5hr drive to Aalborg with 3 other officials before reffing 3 games… and then driving back.
It’s going to be a long day 😅

Thaaaaaanks! Sun is shining, it’s a balmy 12°c, and I have the day off so the plan is brunch with Rune followed by a couple of hours in the garden, so I’m thinking it will be a lovely day :)
I've been thinking a lot about that bumper sticker which says "everything looks like a conspiracy theory when you don't understand how anything works" and folks it's pretty obvious to me that the people in power right now have absolutely no desire to understand how anything works.
It would be helpful if more people understood renewable energy is actually an extremely disruptive technology and the reason monied interests are trying to make folks hate it is that they are the ones which will be disrupted.
