congratulations to everyone in my inbox: today is the day I'm responding, "I don't do IWD stories!" without apology or pleasantries, only a recommendation to come back to me if folks have actual news.

I've now posted on LinkedIn and here. Think that'll stop this horrible game of whack-a-mole?

All We Got Is All We Need
All We Got Is All We Need YouTube video by Philadelphia Eagles

I have no idea what the origin of “we all we got we all we need” is, but I DO know it was our rallying cry the year we beat the Pats so seeing them use it now is lol

I have been trying to craft something smart about this Brady comment for the last five minutes but honestly "WTF" sums it up. "Eagles have rained on *our* parade" is SUCH a choice.

this is entirely conjecture and also niche but imho the NY City Center website crashing the morning Fall for Dance tickets go live seems to be another indication that folks are DESPERATE for affordable live performances.

This Limited Edition Labubu Could Be The Next To Resell For 5 Figures Special edition Labubu dolls are selling for tens of thousands on the secondary market, and one expert says she thinks they’ll hold their value.

as a millennial with a one-time unbearably large Beanie Baby collection... I resent every last five-figure Labubu sale. (iykyk?)

not the main point in this article but I'm never getting over the fact that in a city of 8 million people, we were just over 7k votes away from having a different outcome in 2021 / what could have been NYC's first female mayor

Series of bar charts showing that, in a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, Americans disapprove, 56% to 44%, of the recent U.S. air strikes against Iran, with most Democrats and independents disapproving and most Republicans disapproving. The poll also finds that Americans say, 58% to 27%, that this military action will make Iran more of a threat to the US, with fewer than half saying they trust President Trump to make the right decisions on use of force in Iran.

A treemap of terminated research grants at Harvard

We pored through more than 900 grants worth $2.6 billion that the Trump administration canceled at Harvard.

“This is larger than any individual grant,” a researcher told us. “What we are losing is a future.”

Trump approval falls, Israel-Iran conflict, anti-ICE protests, and vaccines: June 13-16, 2025 Economist/YouGov Poll | YouGov This week’s Economist/YouGov poll covers Trump approval numbers, the Israel-Iran conflict, anti-ICE protests, and opinion of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and his actions

You Gov numbers: "Only 16% of Americans think the U.S. military should get involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran; 60% say it should not and 24% are not sure"

It's going to change quickly, but let's at least remember where we started.

Pop Culture Takes Up Smoking Again

This story (a.) outlines a terrible trend and (b.) misses the ties to diet/Ozempic culture that *could* have something to w/cigs' resurgence. The correlation/causation may not be as clear as the one between cigarettes and cancer, but... I would read a deeper dive.

For the past several months, we've been collecting nominations for the 50 Over 50--specifically, the U.S. portion of this franchise. Age & location requirements are listed on our website.

And yet, I'm currently reading a nomination for someone based in Dubai, born in... 1989.

Visa Pause Could Leave U.S. With Fewer New Doctors Amid Shortage Hundreds of young foreign-educated doctors who matched to American residency programs could miss their start date as the Trump administration puts all new visa appointments on hold.

A very important story on the repercussions of Trump visa pause on physicians. With the Association of American Medical Colleges predicting a 124,000 physician shortfall within the next nine years... this matters.

Kitchen scales are your friend if you’re doing three or more layers! / a dab of icing on the cake plate under the first layer can act like a seal and prevent sliding while decorating / a crumb coat (light coat of frosting) that goes back in fridge before final icing can be super helpful. Good luck!

Google’s Sergey Brin Asks Workers to Spend More Time In the Office (Gift Article) The tech giant’s co-founder said that if employees worked harder and were in the office more, the company could reach an artificial general intelligence breakthrough.

If "60 hours a week is the sweet spot of productivity," that's only because the tech workers who can put in all those hours at the office have offloaded all their caregiving responsibilities onto others more vulnerable than them.
