Like I always defended the theory more than most but I personally found it unlikely because rose's gem wasn't shaped like a diamond like yellow and blue's. The whole rose quartz flipping her gem thing wasn't even a possibility until jungle moon showed us that pink had a literal diamond shaped gem

I definitely agree that there were hints of an unreliable narrator (notice that the part of the story we know happened for a fact isn't stylized) but the show was definitely trying to trick us I reckon.

Is it in fictional mysteries though? Aren't fictional stories supposed to NOT be obvious? I feel like using occam's razor on fictional mysteries is just gonna have you fall for all the red herrings

Oh as someone that was there, this is literally a season 1 theory. People were theorising that rose was pink diamond before the diamonds were even confirmed to be a thing lol. Though the thing that REALLY kicked off the theory was the conflicting diamond symbol we first saw in sworn to the sword

Ok to be completely fair, the show did everything in its power to make that theory seem completely ridiculous. We were supposed to dismiss it. Even people that worked on the show used tricky wording to "debunk" it. I don't think this is a case of overthinking

I think "dess knight is too obvious" is a very flawed talking point but we ARE supposed to theorise who the knight is. They're a masked figure with a mysterious identity. We don't know who they are right now so it's completely valid to ponder

It's important to note that chapters 3 + 4 were probably already finished for awhile and were being sat on so they could release as a switch 2 launch title though

I personally think gaster(?) speaking to us at the start counts as a character introduction. If gaster shows up near the endgame, it's not gonna be a random character showing up out of nowhere, it's gonna be finally putting a face to the guy that's been talking to us throughout the game

no offense but if gaster IS important, why on earth would toby fox acknowledge him before his big reveal in deltarune? people that think gaster is important, think he's a deltarune character with a cameo tease in undetale. Not a character important to undertale's story
