#DisabilityStudies friends: I'm looking for sources that discuss disability and independence. Most of what I'm finding is specifically within the context of aging, but I'm looking for sources that discuss independence more generally for any disability context.

Quayside, bridges & across to the Baltic is good. Bessie Surtees house maybe. There's an area at Ouseburn/between the Quayside and Byker with cool bars & music venues & you might spot the famous Byker wall on your way there. You can climb Grey's monument a.k.a Monument at certain times.

Fair enough! I know someone who did such a thing in Edinburgh & actually studied with me in Leeds in Ancient Times 😆 so they could even be going anywhere in UK afterwards. Weird system.

I think some access & top-up things run through the summer & the odd vocational/very specific certificate things runs for 12 months. Some international students have to do a pre-study study thing. I have so much vague knowledge here, lots of Things 😆

~ transcription support for qualitative data collection (interviews, workshops, memos etc)
~ transcripts for author dictated manuscripts
~ editing support for automated transcripts
~ closed captioning support for videos, vlogs, etc

Setting up a charity for a group of people widely considered to be fine actually (even though the evidence says lol no) in this climate is probably the daftest thing Ive ever done. Also the most frustrating.

We're not fine actually. Help me change that.
