There isn't a realistic trade involving MPJ that makes the Nuggets better. Knowing MPJ would have to be involved, LaVine isn't a player they should have any interest in at all.

Regardless of the outcome though the real story of the game was Jamal Murray. 28 points, multiple huge shots down the stretch, team best +10. That's the guy who makes the Nuggets a team that can contend for a title

Washington entered tonight's game dead last on offense AND on defense according to EPM. Can't think of a more embarrassing loss, especially considering how well Jokić played individually. I have no idea how Booth can keep his job at this point.

The two main things they needed tonight were a good POA defender who could've prevented JORDAN POOLE from scoring 39 points and a good three point shooter. I wish they'd had a chance to get a player like that on their team somehow!

Most likely he'll get back to his normal self pretty soon. His usage is down a little bit so I think he could be more aggressive hunting shots, but mostly I think the weakness of the rest of the roster isn't able to cover for him struggling right now.

It's easy to forget that he always struggles at the start of the season after you watch him play in March

The starting lineup I'm pretty much not worried about but I don't think it's ideal that we're giving AG backup 5 minutes on December 1 in his first game back! Their bench always sucks but it's like extra bad right now, there's probably 1 guy I'm comfortable giving playoff minutes to currently

I think when you get right down to it, the Nuggets just aren't that good right now. Fortunately they still have time to right the ship but if the playoffs started today I wouldn't consider them a serious threat.

Some of this stuff for the Nuggets was bound to happen (Jokić was due for some regression shooting threes for example), other stuff is emblematic of a team that's just not good enough right now (zero contribution from any bench players, -17 on fastbreak points, -18 points in the paint, etc.)
