We managed to convince Google to open source PebbleOS. Took a while, but they just did it today! github.com/google/pebble
With that, we're bringing Pebble back! I blogged about it - ericmigi.com/blog/why-wer...

Verification update: In April we announced a new form of verification to help you know which voices are authentic and noteworthy. We continue the verification process through Bluesky and our trusted verifiers - which distribute power of verification beyond Bluesky to other notable entities 1/5:

🌸 I just expanded the “Open House” with two lessons from The Joy of React!
This means that four lessons from my two flagship courses are currently publicly available, no registration or anything required. 😄
If you’ve been curious about what my courses are like, now’s your chance to find out. ✨
If you need a bike and want to buy American, check out guardianbikes.com. We started on the path of bringing mfg from China to the USA in 2020. Indiana. And they are now there. From Shark Tank to possibly the leading bike company in the USA
No it doesn’t. Being an asshole isn’t ideological diversity, it’s just edgelording. Wanting livable wages, healthcare, peace, kindness-those are all supposed to be 99% agreeable stuff. Folks just want to live their lives and occasionally get Friday’s off work. These don’t require a devils advocate.
I have an Alienware 32inch curved from like 2020....are they still top of the top? 🤷🏾♂️

hmmmm, I am in San Antonio, Texas.....can you help me locate these local meetups?
Thank you so much Carly! :-).
Yeah it does makes sense and I think we were on this path so this really helps. I will give you an update on all this. It's been quite a journey for our team :-)
👋🏾 Hey underrepresented folks in tech! Do you have a blog, podcast, course or youtube channel that folks in tech should know about? Please share it.
I'm looking for content to share in @diversifytech.com's newsletter. Thank you!
Example: a value is changed in X index, then when we update X index, the old X isnt deleted its replaced, where that old X index goes if we can append it to 'historical BSA' then we track historical
I was fumbling through documentation and then I said to self "Let me ask, Carly" :-)
@carlyrichmond.bsky.social
Hola!
Is this something ES can do?
Write to an existing index something that would overwrite a data document that already exists in the index, take that old one and append it to a historical index
I think you already remember my answers LOL

I remember when 18F was created. I was a contractor at Department of State and one of few developers part of redesigning the US Embassy websites. They had a heavy influence on the work we did at the time.
Thank you all for your service and I'm so sorry this happened...
If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company.
It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create.
They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms.
I’m happy to invest and/or help
🎉 Introducing my upcoming third course, Whimsical Animations!
This course will teach you how to build top-tier animations and interactions using a variety of techniques. ✨
You can join the waitlist on the course’s brand-new site, which is the most ridiculous thing I’ve built in quite some time:
I let my current manager know this as often as I can remember to do this.
Wow I just loved this talk from Hanselman!

I learned to
- create a VHD from Disk Mgmt 😮
- build a container from a csproj 😎
- switch Docker to containerd 🆗
- build a WASI container! 🤯
Thanks @scott.hanselman.com! 👏
I wonder if y’all realize what’s happening in Canada now?
Everyone I know is figuring out how we can support each other, and make sure none of our money goes to the US. It’s a weird mix of patriotism and vengeance.
So far, I’ve diverted >$3000 that would’ve gone to the US over the next year.
Day 1 on the Elastic booth at #ndclondon talking all things #elasticsearch #kibana #elk. Excited to see @stevejgordon.bsky.social's talk later. Not a bad view here either. 😊 If you're around come and say hi 👋
Most of my promotions were based on my ability to attach my work to the metrics below. Working at a major cloud provider made this a lot easier because we tracked everything. It largely comes down to earning and sharing the credit across different teams including engineering, product, and sales.
Joy of React certification
I am happy to share that I’ve successfully completed The Joy of React course from @joshwcomeau.com
Before I didn’t feel confident of my React skills, despite having years of experience. Josh’s course helped me build a great foundation I will use for the rest of my career!
