The one woman traitor on this list is from my state!
Great poster! I also like your cartoonified portrait :)
What's funny is I'd bet 95% of people who are all for banning these scholarly works on race and gender wouldn't even understand them. lol
I love freesias, they smell so good!
Yes, the article makes the distinction. The Alien Enemies Act was invoked to imprison the Issei first. Then EO 9066 was an illegal way to imprison the US citizens because they supposedly were a "risk to national security". π
Not excusing him at all-- but it seemed to me he didn't even know who Goebbels was! Could it be he is so ignorant he didn't realize he was quoting an actual nazi? He fumbled around saying "Gerbles". π
I believe the Alien Enemies Act was invoked by Roosevelt to "justify" his Executive Order 9066.
haha, I know. I think I may have noticed it implied in old movies--1950s or before? Idk, I've tried reading The Artist's Way a few times and can't relate to it much. I'm honestly not opposed to religion or people expressing their beliefs, but that aspect of the book doesn't resonate with me.
These stereotypes are even older than 1992, tho.
I don't think the author thinks this way about gay artists; she's discussing the stereotypes -- but yeah, these are from many years ago, so it's definitely outdated. May be time for an updated edition of The Artist's Way soon!

If you look at Miyazaki's bio, his art is influenced by his life and family -- his father's career making airplane parts during WWII, his own experience of seeing and living in a bombed out postwar Japan, his mother's illness, etc.
