Excited for Slay The Spire 2 today, even if it is releasing in early access. Taking the day off work tomorrow just to play!

It is done. Only my 4th platinum ever.
My deck:
Lost count of how many hundreds of hours I’ve put into Slay The Spire over the years, but today I finally beat the Heart for the first time!
I know it’s not new, but I played Lords of the Fallen this year and loved it. One of my favourite non-From soulslikes.
My game of the year though, by a mile, is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Wonderful in every way.
Did most of my gaming on PlayStation this year, so this is pretty representative of my year.
Can’t remember the last time I had a perfect victory in The Bazaar, let alone two in one day! Admittedly this wasn’t ranked though.
Just finished Lords of the Fallen. What an unexpectedly great Souslike. The final boss looked pretty cool too.
I think Assassin’s Creed Odyssey would be my number one. I normally hate the mass-of-icons open world games, but for some reason that one really got its hooks into me.
Too intimidated by the reported difficulty of Silksong to pick it up. Decided I wanted to play something easier, so I’m replaying Dark Souls III instead.
What does it say about me that I love hanging out in the forlorn worlds of the Souls games? Loved Shadow of the Colossus’ world too.
I bailed out of Horizon Forbidden West because I got overwhelmed by the size of the map and the number of icons on it. I’ve retreated to my roguelike deckbuilders safe space. 😀
I’m playing Monster Train 2 on covenant 10 because that’s what @retromation.bsky.social does, and that’s what real gamers do, but OMG it’s stressful and I’m barely hanging on by the skin of my teeth. 😕
Sorry to hear this. I had to live with my now ex-wife for 2 months between her telling me she wanted out and me getting my own place and it was absolutely fucking horrible. Hang in there.
Clair Obscur was absolutely fantastic. My GOTY so far, by a long way. Fresh story, great acting, wonderful music, challenging combat.
Finished Sword of the Sea. It looks incredible, traversal feels great, and the use of the PS5 controller’s haptics and speaker is excellent. It lacks the emotional heft of Journey though, and sometimes I thought its callbacks to that game (and Abzu) were a little heavy-handed. Still, recommended!

Snow shadow. #swordofthesea
Sword of the Sea’s photo mode is so good it’s annoying, because I’m constantly compelled to interrupt my game to snap a new vista! 😀 Don’t think I’ve used photo mode in a game so heavily since Horizon Zero Dawn!
Not on Bluesky? 😢
That definitely seems like a missed opportunity lol.
Congrats, it’s a very pretty game. This is my favourite shot so far.
This is my favourite shot so far. Photo Mode is up on the D-Pad, if you haven’t discovered that yet. #swordofthesea
When I said it was a mix of Journey and Abzu l meant it literally. #swordofthesea
Hmm, looks familiar. #swordofthesea
I also looked for a photo mode and couldn’t find it. The game could definitely do a better job of making you aware it exists!
