I can think of a few that people forget were written for movies (like Goo Goo Doll's Iris, Kate Bush's This Woman's Work, Bacharach's Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head), but the weirdest for me would be that Madonna's Vogue was for the Dick Tracy movie.

I feel like I HAVE to be missing something here, why would you go after the storefront for licensing in-game music?
do cosplayers at cons do big hotel orgies? I imagine it’s like the olympics. and doesn’t everyone want to fuck mario or toad or batman or something? or are the costumes too fragile and precious
(Beartato and Reginald, in a museum, gaze upon the Mona Lisa) BEARTATO: There it is. The Mona Lisa. The most famous painting in history. REGINALD: Wow! What's it do? BEARTATO: It... what? REGINALD: Why's it famous? What's it do? (Beartato thinks.) BEARTATO: I don't know. REGINALD (to nearly museum employee): Excuse me! Sir? What's it do? EMPLOYEE: You're the first person to ask! Watch this! (The employee yanks a pull-string. Mona Lisa's eyes spin around and her mouth opens like a puppet) MONA LISA: Honk honk! Honk honk! (Everyone is delighted. This is true art.)

Wanted to practice with something outside my wheelhouse. So, I drew comic pages of this scene from Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces.
Limited pallete illustration of a 90s PC. A messy desk is covered in pens, pencils, notes on puzzles, a donut and coffee. A dungeon crawling game is on the screen. Some cute mice explore the area.

I only heard it for the first time a few weeks ago but Magdalena Bay's Imaginal Disk hit me the exact same way EMOTION did. And while it's an older album I recently listened to Yeah Yeah Yeah's "It's Blitz!"and it is some peak turn of the 10s pop.
The image shows Yo and Clutch, the hosts of Battle Vision Network, at their desk. There is a purple and blueish gradient behind them, with the BVN logo faded in the background. Between the two of them is a yellow and white card, showcasing Curveball. Curveball is a unit in BVN, who is a baseball with guts and an orange hat. In the card, it says: “On Combat: Attack curves to another lane halfway to the endzone.” At the bottom of the image is dialogue from Clutch Valentine, that says: “… After that he’ll curve randomly into either the left or right lane beside him for the last 3 rows!!”
The image highlights a battle between the RagTags in the bottom half and the Holy Rollers in the top half. Debbie, one of the units in the game, has featured art on the left side of the screen depicting her winking with her tongue out. She holds an gas can behind her.
The image highlights a battle between the RagTags in the bottom half and the Holy Rollers in the top half. One of the units from the RagTags, Debbie, is using her move on the opposing side. It shows her facing the top part of the screen, with flames reaching the other endzone.
The image shows one of the maps from Battle Vision Network. In the bottom left corner, it is titled: “The Nuggz Vortex”. The bottom right features the Nuggz food, with its slogan to the left of it: “Ignite your taste receptors”. The map itself shows multiple nodes, some with the logos of various teams, others with blue cubes with stars on its sides, and the Prismaa Cup on the far right node.
✨ Battle Vision Network has gone through a major directional change… as it will now be a single-player campaign experience with roguelike inspired progression!

A screenshot of the settings menu for SponsorBlock. It's divided into categories, with options to skip over sponsors, self promotion, exclusive access content, interaction reminders, intros, end credits, previews/recaps, intros, tangents, and mark videos that have been given exclusive access or showing video highlights. All of them can either be disabled, automatically skipped, or show a prompt to skip.
It might be worth checking out sponsorblock. It's a browser addon that marks out and lets you skip over a parts of the video that you're not into (and has per channel settings). It can be a bit spotty with the smaller channels but for the larger ones people have been very thorough.
