Why can’t I just live full time in the kingdom of Hyrule? ::bangs steering wheel:: lizalfos, I can HANDLE lizalfos
I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.
And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
Aaaand yadda yadda yadda, the universe and DCPD have literally forced me to give up on trying to drive and spend my morning waiting to see the monks. Here’s to loving kindness shutting everything down.
🙏 😪 🤦♀️
JAM THE GEARS OF THE WORLD TO A HALT, MY DUDES.
I forgot to check the peace monks’ route this morning, and it’s my precise morning commute, and my kids and I are trapped half a mile or so behind them and will be for at least an hour, and God this is kind of a holy experience?
watching lindsay vonn and internalizing the important lesson of never trying to do anything past the age of 40
And I could not be more proud.
well that's going to cause a lot of flooding isn't it
All you need to know going in is that Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980 after their beloved bowler-hat wearing drummer John Bonham died suddenly at 32, and the three surviving members had no idea his son was going to be onstage.
On a related note — if you want spiritual medicine this Sunday morning, watch this — IMO the greatest performance ever on the Opera House stage:

I promise it’s worth it, even if you don’t think you’re a Led Zeppelin fan.
Just a quick update from the Twin Cities. (Please forgive the unsolicited message). THINGS ARE NOT BETTER IN MINNEAPOLIS. The media is mostly moving on, Trump is focused on other stuff, BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON THE GROUND. More than 2,000 DHS thugs continue to roam the streets, abducting people 24/7, assaulting legal observers with impunity, and routinely denying 1st, 4th, and 5th amendment rights. Drones and helicopters are overhead every day. Hundreds and hundreds of terrified families have not left their homes since mid-December ... relying on the community to bring them food and help with rent and other necessities. (Those people are NOT violent drug cartel sex offending murderers, as DHS would tell you. Most are legal residents or citizens.) If anything, things have just become more stressful and intractable (think trench warfare as a suitable metaphor): The resistance is better organized and numerous, but DHS has become more clever and better at disguise... and the county sheriff's office is increasingly supporting them . Do not let anyone tell you that Homans (the new person in charge of the occupation) is making anything better. Do not let anyone tell you that 700 ICE agents leaving the city has made much of a difference; the remaining force (again, ~2,000) is still larger than the entire city's police force (which is legally unable to do anything). Please call your congressional reps ... especially if there is any chance the administration might listen to them.
A desperate plea sent to me by a Minneapolis resident who's been on the front lines since the beginning of the ICE occupation:
It’s 40-60! These people are violating the social contract!!!
Thank you ❤️
Excited to be a paying subscriber to this. The staff CVs are 🔥
I’ve been using the CIA World Factbook online since I was a little kid. What a stupid, pointless desecration.
(The archives include extensive book proposal tutorials.)

Think of the world we could have if we just got our money back from like 100 people and enacted a little antitrust legislation. It's closer than you think.
Let your rage and sorrow in. Let it make you delulu for this.
lizzie johnson @lizziejohnsonnn · 49m I was just laid off by The Washington Post in the middle of a warzone. I have no words. I'm devastated. Quote lizzie johnson @lizziejohnsonnn · Jan 25 Waking up without power, heat, or running water. (Again.) But the work here in Kyiv continues. Warming up in the car, writing in pencil — pen ink freezes — by headlamp.
