Yep, The UK version was part owned by International Family Entertainment, the U.S. version was wholly owned by IFE. In Canada, it was founded by Allarcom and
​First Choice Canadian Communications.

The Canadian Family Channel had no connection to the UK/USA version.

Family Channel is officially shutting down. Its owner, WildBrain, announced it will cease broadcasting its Canadian TV channels (including Family Jr., WildBrainTV, and Télémagino) due to a carriage dispute with Rogers and Bell.
