He was sort of a babyface in WWE this past run. I could see it working here in AEW because even as a member of a heel faction I feel he doesn't really cheat all that much. At least not in his solo matches.

Even the Andrade match has roots to when Andrade first joined AEW and wanted to sign Darby. He's respected him for a while, hence the handshake at the end of the match.

This dude has thrown himself through glass, been thrown down stairs (multiple times!) been thrown onto a flaming table, intentionally crashed multiple cars for this company and y'all don't think that's enough "story" to declare himself a contender?

Every team wants to win the Super Bowl. Every baseball team wants to win the World Series. Every director wants to win Best Picture.

In kayfabe, every wrestler wants to be the World Champion. Otherwise why even do it?

He beat Gabe Kidd in that coffin match and immediately after that match called out MJF. The coffin match wrapped up the Kidd feud.

I don't want to tell people how they should watch whatever program they watch, but when folks criticize a story direction as saying there's been "no build" to that beat when there has been a build I get annoyed. Just means people aren't paying attention.

Last night was amazing. And judging from the videos & pics my friends have sent me I outwardly reflected the same. I have zero chill, a strong ability to suspend disbelief & immerse myself, a loud mouth, and a very emotive face.

And this is why I love #aew wrestling. I still haven't watched.

Will definitely tune in!

This match was the exact match that needed to happen for each character at this moment in their respective arcs. Can't wait to see where they go next.

People think this squash was a "cheap" win and somehow diminished what led up to it but in actuality, Darby won easily because he has no doubts about who he is. MJF got squashed because despite his immense in-ring talent, he STILL relies on shortcuts. Meaning he doesn't 100% believe in HIS ability.
