This is an article I've shared previously.

But it explains so well the brilliance of the Bell and Hockridge translations.

The translations are *chef's kiss*

Don’t get me wrong - I love offal. It was meant as a lighthearted reply - you have to admit the “look” isn’t great. And BTW I’ve had great meals in the US and dreadful ones in Europe. Bon appetit!

Spot on, Jay. Da Mario is also great for people-watching, from the Asian students to trout-pouting Sophia Loren wannabes to bonkers S Ken locals with puppies in Ralph Lauren gilets in a pram. The staff, of course, don’t bat an eyelid.

In 1984, Canadian soldiers visited the island and planted a Canadian flag, also leaving a bottle of Canadian whisky.[10] The Danish Minister of Greenland Affairs came to the island himself later the same year with the Danish flag, a bottle of snaps, and a letter stating "Welcome to the Danish Island" (Velkommen til den danske ø).[11][12][13] The two countries proceeded to take turns planting their flags on the island and exchanging alcoholic beverages.[14] In 2005 a Canadian man and an unknown source on the Danish side also posted advertisements on Google to "promote their claims".[14][15][16]

The minor border dispute was often considered humorous between the two nations, with diplomats displaying good humour. Despite the serious official nature of the matter, the manner in which the conflict was prosecuted was light-hearted, demonstrated by the length of time taken to settle the dispute, if nothing else. The two nations are on friendly terms, and are also founding members of NATO.

The two places Trump wants - Greenland and Canada - share a land border. They fought the so-called Whisky War over it for almost half a century, and it was basically adorable.

I’m seeing at least 2 new patients a week with this. Most are happy when they understand the mechanism, and eventually notice it less. Most.
It would also help if primary care practitioners could be explained the difference between a slow pulse and true bradycardia.

Every word of this is true and music to my ears.
You’ll be a big loss to the Observer, and sorry you’ll be behind an expensive paywall. But good luck anyway!

One thing I'm sorry I deleted off twitter was a huge thread of fashion spreads of models pretending to be artists in totally practical outfits

There are more than a million British people with Pakistani heritage in the UK.

For the Shadow Home Secretary to suggest they have an "alien" and "medieval" culture and to smear them by association with the crimes of a tiny minority, is the politics of the far-right gutter.

In my early teens when I first listened to Horses, completely knocked out. I still feel exhausted every time I hear “Birdland”. Amazing …
….yeah apart from Redondo Beach, I agree

This is so important. It may be a simplistic view but it all started with repeal of the Fairness Doctrine in 1987 under Reagan. The idea was that instead of major broadcasters having to represent differing views, it was acceptable to have different one-sides broadcasters. Big mistake.
