Youβll see updates coming in the next few weeks. But first, Iβm taking a proper holiday βοΈ
Posts by Jan De Dobbeleer
Over the past six months, Iβve been focused on building my new career, which meant stepping back from @ohmyposh.dev. Itβs been intense, but Iβve really enjoyed it. The work actually energizes me instead of wearing me down. Now that Iβm settled in, Iβm ready to get back to oh-my-posh π
Oh My Posh v29.4.0 is out! π
This update brings streaming prompt rendering (beta) β see your prompt instantly, with segments loading progressively & placeholders while slow bits finish π
π Ready to try the future of terminal prompts?

You might not know oh-my-posh has an MCP server because I never told anyone before due to playing with the possibilities, but thinking about it, a skill that leverages it to create valid configurations based on a conversation would make a lot of sense.
@ohmyposh.dev now integrates seamlessly with @anthropic.com Claude Code, bringing realβtime AI session insights and development context directly into the statusline. Model info, token usage and cost tracking all underneath your prompt π

Wait? Is this oh-my-posh running natively inside
Claude Code? Happy holidays everyone!
I found the issue in GitHub as well in the meantime, should've checked there first. Enjoy the holidays first!

I'm back writing blog posts!
Here's how to trick out your Windows Terminal with GitHub Copilot CLI and Oh My Posh π₯π₯π₯

I would, yes! Always a pleasure.
Finally I had the time to update my oh my posh settings... now I can see my GitHub Copilot Premium requests directly in the console... @jan.ohmyposh.dev
Seven developers in Santa hats gather around a glowing gift and laptop with a decorated Christmas tree and cozy fireplace background.
To celebrate the incredible work and dedication of the open source community this Christmas, I'm delighted to announce a small giveaway!
A new terminal segment just landed. Upgrade to v28.1.0 to monitor your GitHub Copilot request usage directly from the command line β inspired by @eliostruyf.com βs Copilot Usage Tracker. Prefer tracking usage anywhere? Pair it with Elioβs tracker for the complete experience.
Open source didnβt hand me car keys.
But building in public taught me to code, communicate, take feedback & grow.
Habits β skills β opportunities β career.
And that career? It bought the car.
Open source unlocked the path to earn it.
The next episode of the #UnhandledException podcast is now live! π I'm a huge fan of @ohmyposh.dev - so it was amazing geeking out with the author of it - @jan.ohmyposh.dev! π₯

That sounds π― like a developer workflow π
Can you check again?
Feel free to send my contact details to your employer. Iβm used to having these conversations and can definitely help build a plan to do this more maturely.
I completely understand how you feel and this is a challenge for a lot of developers around the world at the moment. Expecting all these efficiency gains without of the box AI tools without investing in the people is setting this evolution up for failure.
Iβll have a look as I upgraded Hugo from an ancient version yesterday π Thanks for the heads-up!!
My advice? Do not oppose this evolution but learn how to use it reliably. If you know about worktrees, Iβm sure you know about engineering excellence as well. Leveraging AI effectively needs people like you teaching these habits to others, and AI can be your best buddy in achieving these results.
Iβm with you on this 100%. As I state in the post, this workflow isnβt new, it just got supercharged with the use of agentic AI.
Itβs been a while since I wrote a blog post, and this one matters. Ever wished you could run multiple agents in parallel without wrecking your repo? I break down how Git worktrees + Copilot CLI make that happen for me.

I finally had time to play with the new functionality @jan.ohmyposh.dev created in Oh My Posh and contributed some docs on it as well.
If you're looking for an automated way to configure your terminals, I wrote a quick blog about it:
