The Qiantang river's tidal bore is the world's largest and most powerful of its kind. Sometimes two tides meet together forming a shape like a cross, that can become even more captivating at sunset.

We have a shortage of employed midwives and midwives looking for work. Failing to ask for enough tax to pay for what the nation needs is a government failing.

Oh yes I agree with you. I expect it will be shown to be a lie.

He is evidence that IQ score is not related to wisdom or humanity. People with supposed low IQ are some of the most lovely people I have met.

When I was a kid the Telegraph was described as being for people who hadn't realised we no longer had an empire. The quality of reporting hasn't got any better.

You don't even have to be autistic for phrases to be baffling. I appreciate clear language and the effort that goes into clear explanations.

Phrases like "The pot calling the kettle black" lost everyday significance of pots & kettles heated over open fires long before I was born & can be misinterpreted to be horribly racist. It's good diversity training points out issues with some people's everyday language when no offence is meant.

How stupid to be in the wrong country attacking the wrong people. It is not the way to make the situation better for anyone.

I hope the military to stands by its right to ignore illegal orders. It is how to know if they are strong leaders.

We should sort out what our culture/subculture gets wrong before criticising others. We have plenty to keep us busy.

I think we should save criticism of the way people love each other until AFTER we have stopped destructive behaviour by people that hate each other. Trying the other way round hasn't worked. Best wishes to you all.

There must have been other competent people available. There were enough warning signs but being in the club seems to have mattered more.

He is missing out so much. A question I would ask is is "Why did Israel suffer the exile?" It is all there in the Torah. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

GB News headline: GP who asked Muslim woman to remove her veil 'because he was struggling to understand her' is struck off.

Was this GP struck off just because he asked a Muslim woman to remove her veil?

How likely does that sound? 🤷‍♀️

Did he actually ask her to remove her veil 'because he was struggling to understand her?'

Let's take a look at what really happened based on the tribunal reports...

In the coming local elections I will be voting local for people that have been doing local things. Don't punish hard working local councilors for national party incompetence. Don't vote for somebody who hasn't performed or you cannot trust. That is the time to find someone else local.

I would be very surprised if the number of accidents caused by bad driving is as high as the rest of the population. I use Google Maps and there are quite a few times the speed limit is 70 mph and Google says it is 30 mph. There will be problems with black boxes.

October to March is known as “Bronch Season” in children’s hospitals, where the wards are full of children with respiratory infections struggling to breathe.

Both my babies had RSV - an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

This vaccine sounds like a game changer and I am so grateful.

After WW1 Germany was punished and we had WW2. Then the USA did a positive thing and poured in money to help people rebuild Germany. It worked so well, East Germany eventually joined with the west. Being nice works. USA have managed it before and done a good job.

"The county council's Green leader says solar panels should be locally owned..." is not an attack on solar energy.

Beautiful pieces. A shame we are unlikely to see the rules.

I think it is more important that Kier Starmer didn't take us full into the Iran war than selecting Mandelson as ambassador. The Mandelson issue is still serious though. Iran war is directly costing lives. I think that is even more serious.

Properly funding the NHS and social services is cost effective. It is also fairer which is why Reform and Tories don't like it.

It looks like the wind direction is blowing red dust away. I wonder if the dust was deposited by a massive global dust storm that was larger than the ones we have seen since we have been looking closely enough to notice them.

A wide view of the Martian surface seen from above. The landscape is split into two contrasting halves: the left side is lighter, sandy beige with faint ridges and cracks, while the right side is darker, reddish-brown and more heavily cratered. The boundary between the two regions is uneven and gradual, creating a striking colour contrast across the scene.

Mars Express has captured a blanket of dark ash creeping across the Red Planet.

It has spread hundreds of kilometres in less than 50 years.
