This EA-IRMS has filled the space. It runs 'mega-fast' batches increasing throughput, and our tech Gary loves it! It's able to combust organic samples, measure C and N stable isotopes and collect CO2 in our collection system for 14C dating. @isotopesuk.bsky.social @unioxarchaeology.bsky.social

I can't unsee this now. It looks like the hatching is under it's belly as well - exactly where it might be if sewn. If anyone tries to make one, I'd love to see!

Rock art from at least 67,800 years ago in Sulawesi - Nature A hand stencil painted on a cave wall on a small island off the coast of Sulawesi more than 67,800 years ago suggests a very early occupation of Wallacea.

Wowee. Even older ages for rock art in Sulawesi. This time pushing into that period beyond 50ka, where there are tantalising glimpses into human activities through this region and into Sahul. Congratulations to the authors of this paper.
