Original concept sketches for the ant grappler who would become La Reina. She originally had four arms, but when it came time to animate her sprite we found the second pair a bit too cumbersome. The silhouettes for her key poses ended up much stronger with only one set.

To celebrate La Reina's launch in Rivals of Aether II tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to share the very first concept sketch from back when Onyx and I first started thinking how cool it would be to make a grappler ant in Rivals.

Our little bug is all grown up. 🥹
