Really depends what you’re doing, but when I got into pedal building, I:

1. Just got a big organizer thing and keep them all sorted,
2. Gave up remembering the encoding scheme and just use a multimeter,
3. Only buy 1% tolerance across the board, and
4. Threw everything else in a box i never look at
