โIs that any way to greet an old friend, kitten?โ
Leaning back toward the exit now.

โ vertical closing of the eyes. Of course thereโs a price for this; there always is. But a little dramatic flair never hurt anyone, so theyโre waiting for Hordak to reach out for the tech so that they can pull it just out of reach.
โ person, holding it up between their thumb and index finger and dangling it a little as they look at it thoughtfully.
โFirst oneโs tech, Iโd say. No idea what it does, but a little purple birdie told me youโre working on something pretty big. Thought this could help.โ
They blink, a slow โ
โ more neutral. Pushing themself up onto the edge of a nearby console, they carefully fold one leg over the other. โOh, boo. You know, kicking out a guest is a big no-no โ especially when they come bearing gifts.โ
Itโs only now that they pull a small diamond-shaped piece of technology from their โ
โ own little performance of the big, strong man whoโs secretly neither big nor strong at all. Especially not when it comes to hisโฆ What did Entrapta call them? Ah, yes โ Lab partners.
They wipe the entirely-too-pleased-with-themself smile off their face, schooling their expression into something โ
And they almost fell for it just now โ the โbig, bad scary manโ act. He wouldโve gotten away with it if not for the split second of his fallen expression, the sudden edge to his tone.
They file the subtle but telling reactions away for later. They never know when theyโll need to break out their โ
โ across as their body changes shape to reveal an identical copy of Entrapta.
โHowโs this?โ They ask in an imitation of Entraptaโs voice. โBetter? Worse?โ
Itโs not often they have a willing subject. Might as well take advantage.
โ with a thoughtful expression โ specifically her hair.
They sigh.
โMaybe you have a point...โ Slowly, they begin to circle the scientist, examining her closely. Coming to a stop in front of her again, thereโs a brief moment where their form turns black, glittering specks of their magic dancing โ
โIt seems to do the trick just fine on everyone else,โ comes their dismissive response, waving Entraptaโs comments off with a slender hand.
But then again, when have they ever settled for mediocrity before? Constructive criticism should be valued, not cast aside defensively.
They eye Entrapta โ
They gasp, affronted.
โNow I ๐ฌ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ธ you donโt know what youโre talking about; the physicality of my performances are nothing less than perfection, dear.โ
Itโs not ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ช๐ณ fault they canโt make their hair move like Entrapta can. They can change the shape, not the powers. Alas, itโs their only flaw.

Sigh. They miss the Crimson Waste.
Itโs much too cold in the Fright Zone.
โ fascinating character to study, you know.โ
โ rules against it. Hordakโs volatile, aggressive when pushed. Best not to poke the bear too much. Yet.
Turning the corner of a large tank of failed Hordak โ or is that term redundant? โ they come face to face with the man himself. Slowly, a grin spreads wide across their face.

โWhereโs your wacky little scientist with the even wackier pigtails?โ comes a sly voice from the darkness. For a second, they contemplate walking out into the open wearing her form, but that second of thought โ
โ with Hordak have been fairly revealing.
Boy, people need to start honing their poker faces. Often, Double Trouble finds them awfully lacking, even when the person wearing them is truly giving it their all. Itโs sad, really. They should teach a class.
But then again, theyโd have to share their โ
Theyโve been watching for a while now, testing the limits of the awareness of the Hordeโs fearless leader โ or so he would have them all think. If thereโs one thing Double Troubleโs good at, other than most things they put their mind to, itโs reading people.
And the few interactions theyโve had โ
"Yikes. Should I leave?"
They're already one foot out the door, ready to make a hasty exit if needed.

Theyโre standing in the corner of the room, shifted to look like the readerโs strongest emotional attachment.
Just for funsies.
Theyโre lounging on the edge of a cliff top directly above a group of people celebrating a small childโs birthday.
People-watching helps them be a better actor. It works better when the people theyโre observing donโt know theyโre being observed.
