Schedule for the week! Slowing down a little so I can catch up on offstream work. Hope for Timberborn is to get started on building the Earth Repopulator, because I'm pretty sure the town is pretty safe against the major disasters.

I rather enjoyed this quiz! I like these kinds of personality quizzes, especially when they give me a result that isn't what I expected but feels accurate, it makes me feel like I learned a little more about myself.

I did! vgen.co/chipencil was the artist, I enjoy their style quite a bit.

For my BRBs etc, I use the fanart gallery because I want to encourage people to make art, and this just felt like a natural way to encourage behavior that I like and want to see more of.

For my overlays I settled on 'petty minimal,' partially because I just don't like cluttered overlays but also when I *do* game I tend to play stuff that is already pretty UI-intensive, so crowding the display any more is *brutal.* Plus some people watch on mobile, making it even tighter!

I've gone through a few iterations, and what I settled on was partially based on what I liked in other people's and what I thought served my own ends.

Oh he's the one I know best! I think his work on Paul is actually pretty interesting, but on history and *especially* on romance he's just an old crank hiding behind a thesaurus.

I remember in 2000 being like "why aren't people making fun of him for faking this??"

There's an old tweet that's something like "[connecticut accent] Y'all" and I don't think it was supposed to be about GWB but it was about GWB.

That said I'm wondering if I can come up with any particular analytic philosophers that I'd describe as "murderpoets." I can think of a few English-language ones (Land, Caldwell), but I don't think they're considered analytics just "philosophers who happen to work in English."

Baudrillard, I suppose? Probably Derrida too. I feel like the murderpoet camp is going to be our Badiou's and Sartre's. I don't think Bright would endorse the idea that analytic philosophy must triumph over continental, since he's pretty on record as defending continental philosophy.

My first thoughts for "pleasant bureaucrats" are unsurprisingly Chinese (Mengzi first and foremost), but I'd say Laplace and Diderot were French 'pleasant bureaucrats.'

Oh I am absolutely an old crank about this lol, I'm a "the only good TWs are Shogun 1 and Medieval 1" grognard. I feel the move from the region maps to the full 3d map is just a total mistake, and I had Rome 1 there for a minute but decided M2 is generally higher regarded and thus more "over" rated.

Ports and remasters should be second chances, not just retreads!

Didn't game as a kid, and I'm not very nostaglia oriented. I considered putting Hexen, a game I have unreasonable affection for well above its actual quality because I played it before playing Doom, but I thought it was funnier to leave it blank.

Did this on stream today and even fired up Rise of Legends and Tropico 5 to show off the deal with those games. RoL is probably the main game I want a real port of, its a pain to get access to (I have the DVD case lol) and I think it really has a lot to offer to us, both historically and on its own.
