Trump is offended by the very existence of the first Black president because he’s racist. It’s why he’s spent so much time trying to destroy Obama’s achievements.

Three right-wing ideologues signed contracts that may require they register as foreign agents for a Hungarian government-funded organization – and that the organization is possibly altering language in contracts to avoid this – according to a review of their contracts with the organization.

Conservative activist Christopher Rufo, right-wing writer Michael O’Shea and Claremont Institute senior fellow Jeremy Carl signed contracts with the Hungarian government-funded nonprofit Batthyány Lajos Foundation (BLA), which maintains the Danube Institute (DI), a Hungarian think tank. The contracts are from 2022 and 2023.

These contracts require either a speech, media appearance, reports or – in the case of O’Shea – a minimum of two articles in U.S. or European media. They cover issues of migration, LBGTQ+ rights, critical race theory (CRT) and Hungary’s relations with regional allies. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has used all these issues to win influence with the international conservative and far-right movements.

I'm fairly gobsmacked by the number of people who profess surprise that Orbán was funding CPAC. Did you know of his ties to Heritage and Project 2025?

One of the most telling, tho, was he funded Rufo and the racist Trump tried to install at State, Jeremy Carl.

There are two types of people in the world: Those who see this bullshit and think, "What a plucky grandma!" And those who want to hang their heads in shame for their country.

Because Vance is a living node in a Russia-funded propaganda machine; everyone should please notice that there is nothing American about having to fly to a foreign country to try to influence its election so that your own career can continue as planned.

My ex-congressman in Indiana ran on a promise to term-limit himself, then reneged when districts were redrawn. Since he was representing a different numbered district, backsies!

“The Constitution isn’t a suicide pact,” like “you can’t yell fire in a crowded theater,” is a vapid content-free bromide that translates to “my policy preferences override the constitution.” It doesn‘t mean a Goddamned thing and never has.

BREAKING: Trump Administration Orders Dismantling of the U.S. Forest Service The headquarters is going to Utah. Every regional office is being shuttered. The research program is being destroyed.

Contrary to the stenographic, credulous accounts from our major newsrooms, the U.S. Forest Service is not being moved. It is being destroyed. morethanjustparks.substack.com/p/breaking-t...

The marches had no shortage of skeptics.
In Oxford, Miss,, Cass Rutledge, a first-year law student at the University of Mississippi, walked through the No Kings protest and around the town square on Saturday and questioned why people thought Mr. Trump was acting like a king.
"He is, you know, a duly elected president who won the popular vote and the electoral college in a landslide," Mr. Rutledge said.
"And so I'm a little bit confused on how he's acting differently than any other president."
He pointed to the stalemate in Congress over the SAVE America Act, the Republican-driven bill to tighten voter identification and registration rules, which Democrats have called an attempt to suppress turnout based on false claims of voting fraud. Mr. Rutledge said that Mr.
Trump was "going through the process" to try to get the legislation passed.

The NYT says today’s #NoKings protests had “no shortage of skeptics,” and then quoted exactly one of those skeptics: The chairman of the Ole Miss College Republicans (as of 2025.)

But of course, the Times doesn’t ID him as such. He’s just a Concerned Youth.

Dalva is a great book, but the main character is more Harrison in a woman's skin than a Real Woman. (It also features a teenager who fucks an old guy.) And no, the new bio doesn't talk much about that. I keep meaning to write to the author, and as soon as my taxes are filed, dammit I shall.

By the end, I couldn't read another story with a 17-year-old who happily fucks a fat old dude. "Julip" (THREE fat old dudes) was ghastly, especially when you consider the characters are clearly based on him and his buddies.

I know this guy has fanboys galore, and I absolutely admire his writing, but his overt sexual pursuit of.MUCH younger women, very much reflected in his work (especially the later ones) is kinda gross. When he dropped dead I told a friend, "Good career move." 2017 would have done him in.

Good afternoon.

This is your daily reminder that Trump just lifted sanctions on Iran to give them $14 BILLION to hep fund their war against us.

In other words, your daily reminder that this is probably the dumbest war of all time.

Insurrectionist Brunch: Trumpists plotted to deploy military on U.S. soil Before the 2024 election, a cadre of MAGA loyalists met over brunch to plot ways for Trump to use the military domestically.

This is just astonishingly great reporting.

All of the crises the White House has claimed over the last 14 months were planned in advance. All of them.

And however much contempt you have for media outlets who reverently relayed Trump's claim to have no relation to Project 2025, it isn't enough.
