there’s actually never been a better time to be a professional software engineer. we are in the midst of a Cambrian explosion of weird and stupid bugs you get to go and fix!
Here from the USA, is something going on with Longmeadow on the show? I agree it's so important to what people love about GW, I'd hate to hear that it's being de-emphasized.
I definitely won't reinvest in another social media thing, but I'll lose the last hook I have into what's left of the non-right zeitgeist and that will be a bummer
Filled with the light of the lord lookin' mf
And I say this with love, truly, because the nihilism you're shooting up living under hypercapitalism is the refined, pure product of the grainy working class grind we were crushing up and snorting back then.
Jesus christ, I took this picture in 2014 of what I learned in the 90s from my dad to call "bachelor's lunch". It's a pound of browned ground beef and a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese mixed in a bowl (beer optional). Get over yourselves.
This is almost always the right song, except when it's Pickup Truck
Our new album is out today! A sincere request to help spread the word!
In high school I was sat next to a kid who was a Real Problem, but not a violent one - just colossally weird and with no sense of when it was appropriate to talk. When my wife was a kid she was sat with a violent and disruptive girl. We were both used as demi-teachers, and it still happens.
Specifically "as a result".
Appropriately gnomic
Well some papas talk to other papas and other mamas about mama and papa stuff mainly, with occasional cursing
I said "your lips to god's ears" a while ago and a few people in the room were very surprised but honestly it's fun to have a basket of phrases that all mean "well I'd love that but none of us can do any fucking thing about it so we might as well hope", right?
I was elected as a democratic socialist, and will continue to govern as a democratic socialist.
100 days in — and we’re just getting started.
I can't reply to the original but I think we're coming at this from a sympathetic place a few months apart, and calling my predictive skills piss poor is an insult to piss, but from everything I'm seeing being "good at wrangling claude" is shaping up to be table stakes for engineering jobs.
I just feel like Tree Crimes should accrue to the public benefit, not a particular aggrieved individual I guess
TREE CRIMES! Did they really not have penalties, they just settled with the neighbor? That's infuriating.
This is going to be a very exciting gardening month. The community garden I work with is doing a full refresh of all the beds, and a ton of other infrastructure work that's been building up for the past 9-ish years. I can't wait to spend the whole month shoveling and building.
*alarm bells* SOUND MONEY *alarm bells*
And they all act weirdly *mad* that they have to go through you to get to your money.
A friend I met in my 20s had 95-98% hearing loss from chicken pox, and wore full hearing aids from the time he was a kid. He died very young from heart complications that were likely related as well. It's good we have a vaccine.
Can't wait to post this with THREE stars
**jazz hands**
In his first 100 days, Zohran Mamdani has:
-Delivered millions in restitution for workers cheated by gig companies
-Cracked down on predatory landlords
-Launched the first stage of a universal childcare program
-Fixed thousands of potholes in NYC streets
This is what leadership looks like.
Man definitely still not my thing but if it's yours then I hope you can still get one!
Man, no good joke goes unpunished.
I'm a New Mexican non-Jew that moved to the east coast in the 90s and found out about egg creams from the Old New York Nostalgia Machine. Wasn't my thing but... If you love 'em get after 'em? What weird crosswired identity politics makes you want to tell someone that you hate something they love?
I've been following this saga and have Had Thoughts about the choices but I think I've come down on being right with the idea that this is the perfect pick+1 for literal lunar astronauts.
