Michael Baker has joined the staff at the Dubois Museum as the new Collections Manager. Michael has an M.A. Public History, Northern Kentucky University.
Michael enjoys hiking, traveling, and playing music (the drums).
The Fremont County Pioneer Museum will have a booth at the Garden Expo on April 18th from 9-3pm in the LVHS Gym. Stop by our booth and enjoy a fun and free craft!

The Pioneer Museum's newest exhibit at the Lander Library is on the history of the beauty industry, focusing on beauty salons. A long time trade of women, salons of Lander helped provide a career path for women, and continues to do so today.
New Library Exhibit Explores 250 Years of American History
The Riverton Library is hosting a new temporary exhibit, “Riverton’s Place in 250 Years of America,” created by the Riverton Museum staff. The exhibit connects national history to the people, places, and events of the Wind River region.

“Wyoming's History Through the Camera Lens” April 3rd, 6-7pm
The Pioneer Museum will be hosting a traveling exhibit by Wyoming Public Media for the month of April. Randy Wise will give a talk on the history of photography of Fremont County the evening of April 3rd at 6PM to open the exhibit.

We think the notes were created as emergency currency that people could use. It was intended to help with the shortage of federal cash after bank failures. There is an expiration date because the Lions Club wanted this system to be temporary for the years 1933-1934. Perhaps like a gift certificate

People today think of Lander as a biking town, with mountain biking, race biking and recreational biking. But historically bicycles have always been a part of Lander. A new exhibit at the Lander Pioneer Museum features vintage bikes, equipment and photographs of biking through the years in Lander.

“Life In Crowheart Featuring The Haslam Family” Friday, March 6, 6:30 p.m.
Meet the Haslam family at the Dubois Museum. They will share stories and talk about their long family history in Crowheart, their historic Crowheart store. This program is free and open to the public.
The Willoughby Hotel likely taken in Lysite, WY after the move from Lost Cabin in 1914.
The Willoughby's had eight children. Their daughter Livia Willoughby and her husband Dr. Emory Jewell, resided in Shoshoni, WY. Their daughter Isabel became an actress and appeared in Gone With the Wind.
