like maybe they could cut themself off from the fade to defend against magic and demons, or even from their own magic, might make magic harder or inconsistent. dreaming sounds trippy and the half connected emotions

my oc gets briefly reconnected with the fade and it's a bad experience but more due to the sudden emotion and past trauma. an in between could be rough like that with a push and pull, or if they have some control and it's not hard on them could be a useful tool

gets my imagination going

having a niche phobia of a common thing is an odd experience
