I think Doctor Who can be interpreted however it works so long as nothing is inferred that isn’t there (i.e. hateful). But I think it’s more accurate to say the show is an “outsiders” show. Autistic, nerdy, clever, weird, gay, straight, whatever. It doesn’t need to be restricted to any one group.
