Trying to get the word out there about the amazing video game + literature themed channel my company runs. We had authors Sarah MacLean and Layne Fargo on recently to rate iconic kiss scenes in games like Life Is Strange and TLOU 2 💝 🎮 #booksky youtu.be/MTznyyVRQbc
Authors Layne Fargo and Sarah MacLean rated some of gaming's spiciest kissing scenes. We had a time. youtu.be/MTznyyVRQbc
Ask yourself: would you really want to sit through a 1:1 film adaptation of a game that's basically already a film, but missing the core elements that make the game great? No interactivity, no way to influence the characters, no endings catered to you?
"I wanted the original actors!" then play the game!
"I wanted it to be extremely faithful to the source material!" then play the game!
Not even in a condescending way, but I think its important to remind yourself with any adaptation, not even just UNTIL DAWN, that the original isnt going anywhere.
Oh I fully believe it! I see his family each Christmas and the times I've brought it up they're like yeahhh too much work😂
When my Italian boyfriend explained the seven fishes to me a couple years ago, I legitimately thought he was making it up (I somehow never heard of it). Now I want to experience it so bad but he doesn't feel like putting it together😂
@moonlessformless.bsky.social Any plans to put the Withering Rooms soundtrack on streaming? It'd prob become my go-to soundtrack for reading📚
Of course!!🙂
Creating this list also helped me realize as well!
Been experimenting with features on here and took a stab at a starter pack for folks I love to follow for #horror news, interviews, content, etc.. Definitely missing some folks (especially people who may not be on Bluesky yet) but it's a good start - follow if you like horror!👻 go.bsky.app/Ae6Ui9T
Could add more but will end this thread here and say: if you're an editor and would like to work with me, a game dev who wants to pitch their game, or just want to chat horror - drop me a line anytime. 🎃🎃
I also love to do reviews! I was really proud to review Gun's THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE (and a year later interview Gun CEO Wes Keltner on how the game has evolved since then).

Every now and then I also love to leave the house and provide coverage on in-person events - I'm year 2 into covering the annual grand opening of Spirit Halloween.

Having been raised on Goosebumps books, I also love diving into horror geared towards kids - recently, I had the chance to interview one of my favorite creators, @horror4kids.bsky.social, who has become a frequent collaber and friend, on CORALINE. bloody-disgusting.com/editorials/3...
On that note, a career highlight was the opportunity to interview the entire main cast of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: SUMMER SCHOOL, including one of my favorite Final Girls, Bailee Madison. bloody-disgusting.com/exclusives/3...
Every now and then I like to branch out from video games and explore other mediums - I'm a big fan of gateway horror, which I explored in this piece diving into PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. www.fangoria.com/pretty-littl...
I previously hosted an online column with @fangoria.bsky.social called GETTING GRAPHIC, which analyzed the intersection of horror video games and films. I got the chance to interview all types of folks in both industries. www.fangoria.com/getting-grap...
My first horror piece published was for @bloody-disgusting.com, an op-ed picked by @nezzko.bsky.social on the appeal of Behaviour Interactive's Dead By Daylight. Since then, I've had the pleasure of interviewing multiple members of their team and Game Director. bloody-disgusting.com/editorials/3...
Can't sleep, so now feels like as good a time as any to make an intro post on here. 🎃
I'm Brandon - I work in publishing, and I've been a freelance writer for about 5 years now. Horror's always been my niche - I mostly cover gaming but always try to broaden my horizons.
Some highlights below:
Was super easy and quick! I'm coming around to this platform more and more.
Absolutely!!
Will likely be adding to this when I inevitably notice that I've left out some of my favorite folks by accident

@indiegamereviewer.bsky.social hello! I'm interested in providing coverage for your outlet - is there a best editor to reach out to related to pitches? :)
Annual reminder that The Munsters escorted Santa in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade back in 1964. Fred Gwynne reportedly got drunk and was shouting at everyone. Isn't that what the holidays are all about? Happy Thanksgiving!
