If thereâs a group thatâs going to have superpowers on how to give AI context, itâs going to be them. They've been doing context engineering for decades.

I grew up in Woodrow Wilson Elementary's library, then the Manhattan Public Library (The Little Apple, not NYC), and then Kansas State University's research library. AI is more useful if you give it context, and librarians have always provided that context for me.
The original context engineering was called "read a book."
I spoke to someone yesterday from the Brooklyn Public Library and they mentioned that the librarians were worried about what AI will mean for them.
But that pelican looks like it could be in the Tour de France (compared to previous models)

If I futzed with phoenix a fews years back - can I jump into ash and pick phoenix back up as needed, or hit phoenix with a refresher first ?
Cool - I went RevenueCat in the past because this was a mess. Is it that much better now ?
If youâre worried about all the FUD that some AI companies are pushing , then remember:
AI company selling AI says AI is the thing to buy. đ¤
Honestly the cool thing I got out of this thread was âmaybe I need to go look at @ash-hq.org â
I liked your post but how healthy is the elixir ecosystem these days? I saw phoenix 1.1 came out recently but that rev was a long time coming
The American Dream is still alive - the problem is that economic reality makes it so damn far away.

Tbh this has been one of my favorite book purchases in a while. Been a while since mainstream publishers printed hardcover but I my assumption is that this book will still be relevant in a year
Pretty smart to push in this direction for .Net. The .Net web dev space has always seemed to trend toward complexity vs. youâre showing how to decrease it.

AI isnât replacing developers. Itâs like a specialized tool in a craftsmanâs toolbox. And for maintainable code, refactoring tools play a crucial role.
Whatâs your take? Are you blending AI and traditional tools in your workflow, or leaning more on one?

Building a library or an app is different.
Itâs the pairing of AI's speed with developer expertise that turns âquick ideasâ into maintainable, robust solutions.
Traditional dev tools remain essentialâthey're still vital in the AI era.
Quick one-off scripts? AI excels at this.
I use AI for custom bash and Python scripts all the time. What used to take 30 minutes of web searches now takes 2 minutes and a few nudges.
But those scripts are smallâeasy to throw away or rewrite.
The narrative online is: âAI will replace developers.â
But for now, developers are still critical to turn AI drafts into something that scales, integrates, and evolves over time.
AI tools are amazing for trying ideas quickly. I can iterate, prototype, and debug faster than ever.
But when itâs time to solidify those ideas into reusable, maintainable codeâtraditional refactoring tools shine.
