Potential difference tells you basically nothing in this context.

And not to say audio is "cheap", necessarily. But compared to a lot of the other things can do to get experiential/emotional impact - it kinda is.

Depends on genre/context, of course. But generally speaking.

Also generally speaking - you probably don't need fancy procedural or hugely dynamic audio systems. Just trigger.wav files. But trigger the *right* .wav files.

Audio is some of the highest ROI you get in gamedev. Getting the sound effects right, the ambience right (the background hum of a city, the rustle of leaves in a forest), the SFX right has a *massive* impact on the experience.

Probably an order of operation thing... I see Tom F responsed, he knows all about USB. You can probably avoid the two step process by plugging in the mic, waiting a beat, then the USB (as opposed to having the USB already connected when you connect the mic).

Those models are *very* old in "agentic coding years".

Not saying AI is perfect or doesn't hallucinate. But those models are waaaay behind state of the art.

The difference between GPT4o and Codex 5.3 is enormous. Coding models have gotten better in leaps and bounds in the last ~three months.
