If you don’t have to pay then it’s really good treaty, we Indian people pay only where we earn. USA really loves taxes they ask tax on foreign earnings as well, Americans in Korea have to prepare documentation to prove they paid already to avoid double tax.

Is home country(China) not coming for any tax? Often such treaties translate to : you take tax from your citizens working in my country, I take tax from my citizens working in yours. It gets complicated if income source is in both countries.

post doc waiting for funding results to move from one to another place when current boss knows is different kind of notice period equivalent. and some fellowships take 6 months to announce. #AcademicChatter
