Some differences b/n Poland/Hungary which may matter for the democratic restoration process: Fidesz lost in a landslide and Tisza has a constitutional majority; PiS lost closely and retained the presidency. Poland's high ideological polarization is central to politics; Hu's main issue is corruption.

How did Magyar win? A long running grassroots campaign in rural and small town Hungary; a refusal to be distracted by government propaganda; a focus on economic issues and corruption; a central promise to bring back democracy and the rule of law
Given the huge early turnout in Hungary odds seem very high that Magyar wil defeat Orbán very decisively; the question in that case would be whether Orbán goes with the Ukrainian electoral interference lie he has been preparing and whether foreign actors support him.
It is deeply ironic that Europe's most blatant traitors dare to name their faction "Patriots for Europe."
