I too expected the lg. military/ fired Fed. Gov't employees and significant independent voter pop to turn more blue. But they in fact came down on roughly the same margins as they typically have in the past 10 election cycles. Virginia is always a squeaker. Which makes this vote even more prophetic
This country is suffering a plague of stupidity. It's a far deadlier condition than any virus. And the only cure is for people to self educate which they appear unwilling to do. Too many subscribe to the ignorance is bliss philosophy. And it's gotten us into a pretty big mess.
And maybe you're over thinking it...it's fiction, fantasy not in anyway representative of any reality. Don't try to make inferences or impose some deep societal message. It's entertainment, just let it be.
